How's your knee by now? Let me say you got injured in the most respectable way by saving us from getting a goal that day ....I got my minor injury in the only situation in which I tried to play soccer like I was used to in my younger days.

I'm still a little bit nervous concerning the third match on Thursday, might be dangerous to loose the momentum. But still confident though. No way to attend the game then Matt? You don't have to be in the big crowd.

I'm worried about Thursday too. There's too long between Game 2 and Game 3: it gives Frankfurt a chance to recover. I hope to go on Thursday, but I don't know if I will be able to.

I'll try emailing you with an update. If you don't get something, send me a message, OK?

I had a bad feeling Mannheim would get their act together in the playoffs.

With Frankfurt missing Hackert AND Robidas, and Hecht and Corbet on fire, I just don't know if Frankfurt is gonna have a chance. Weight has been just too quiet!

Berlin-Ingolstadt is gonna be a tough series. Just don't know who'll win it, but I have to think the NHL line and Waite will be the difference!

Hey you germanians. I'm related to Micki Dupont, how has he played since joining the DEL two years ago, is he any good. Hard to find anything on the web if you can't speak German. Knowing what fotze means doesn't help either.

Hard to judge DuPont well.

I´d say that everybody expected a little bit more from DuPont, but i wouldn´t call him a dissapointment, so let´s say it this way: he´s a good DEL player with skills but shortcomings on the defensive side of the game.
He´s not an elite player in the league, but he´s not average either - right in the middle of the pack.

I'd say he improved a lot, playing really good in the playoffs right now. He is one of the best offensive-defensemen in the league, not quite at the level of Trepanier, Julien or Robidas, but a feared scorer nontheless.
Berlin's defense is really good offensively, so the scoring is more spread out than in other DEL-teams.

Dupont has been wonderful for Berlin. He had a + rating last season and put up 11-24-35 numbers in around 60 games. This season he'll be topping that.

He's on a team that includes ex-NHL fringeplayers Ricard Persson and Shawn Heins and current NHL fringers Derrick Walser and Nathan Dempsey. He's been the best of the group.

Don´t know if that´s the right statistic to judge DuPont well.

Although he´s been +11 this season he´s been on the ice for 31 goals against - he´s leading the Polar Bears in that statistic, so he´s doing well in the offense, but on the defensive side of the game he´s not that succeeding.
Shawn Heins is leading the Polar Bears with a +21 rating while being on the ice for 46 goals and just 25 goals against.
DuPont did fire about 180 shots on goal for 11 goals - he´s leading the defenseman in scoring, but he did shoot about 50-80 pucks more on the goal than the other (former) fringe NHLers.

In my opinion he´s not in the same league as Trepanier, Brennan, Smrek, Robidas, Ficenec and Bouchard and that is the reason why he´s not an elite player IMO, just a good player.

He´s in excellent shape and doing really well.
He did overcome his midseason slump and is back playing his A-game.
Huet´s one of the key factors for the recent success (other factors are discipline and the EHC-Line (Edgerton-Hecht-Corbet).

Berlin won 4:2 against Ingolstadt and therefore wins the series 3-1.

Frankfurt beat Mannhein 2:1 OT and the series is tied 2-2. ****ing referee. He has had some real bad calls in the overtime. The penalty on Delmore (which lead to the 2-1) was absolutely ridiculous...

Haven´t seen the game, but i´ve read that Jason Young is out - bad call or justified suspension ?
Would be a major setback for the Lions.

Didn't see it clearly. It was during a break if I remember corerctly. I just saw a Mannheim player going down and then Young going to the penalty box.

Sorry....

They won't Dan

I don't see them produce enough pressure playing 5on5. So, my team will win, if we stay away from the penalty box. If.....

I'll be at the match, and pretty nervous already.

No score through 1 period.

Andy elmore (no "D") got a 5-3 goal 18 secs into the 2nd period.
Rene Corbet made it 2-0 6 minutes later at even strength.

FRA on the PP now, halfway through the game. Hang on, it'll be wild!

Berlin vs. Mannheim in the Finals! Mannheim hangs on to win 2-0.

Great series, Frankfurt, that had me on the edge of my seat. This is like the Caps in 1998 (though hopefully it'll end differently). I'm stoked for the finals!
