Why don't you guys reciprocate. You could make a thread on the hit Cole threw on Phaneuf after Phaneuf clocked Galchenyuk.

We shall see how tough we actually are tonight. Phili doesn't **** around and I am hoping for another scrappy game. Beating up Montreal is like being an 8th grade bully.

I'm not surprised by his physicality. His confidence far exceeds his size and I think his confidence is only growing which is great for him and great for the Leafs. He's not afraid to jump into a scrum and defend his teammates, despite being smaller in size so I'm certainly not surprised to see him laying hits to the body but I am surprised of how awesome that particular hit was.

He's taken some time to mature into his game and really show off his potential but it's been kind of cool to see him maturing right in front of our eyes. At least for me, it gives me an appreciation for his talent and his journey to realize what he's capable of and hopefully he's just scratching the surface.

I think most Leaf fans at least knew that he liked to hit...the bigger question was would he ever be strong enough to do so effectively? Thank you Mr Roberts

Kadri is a hitting/agitating machine. He draws more PP's on the team than anyone else. Sure he embellishes a little bit but really, you gotta play a little bit dirty to get anywhere in this league. I can admit that Kadri makes the occasional dive but hey, whatever. I suppose maybe I'm a bit classless when it comes to hockey but if we win...

Am I the only one who see a lot of Forsberg in Kadri?

Lets keep in mind here that Forsberg was always a skilled, gritty player with great vision and good hands but was considered a bit undersized for the NHL. But when he went from being a boy to becoming a man he filled out his body and become really strong.

I see so many similarities between them, even the beast mode that Forsberg is so famous for is something Kadri have even do he can not really turn it on in such a dominant fashion just yet.

The "backbone" of the roster rarely played under Wilson.

Orr played 51 games in the past two seasons (5 last year). Orr and Rosie did not often play in the same game, and while Brown plays hard, he rarely had support. Our bottom 6 last season was what? Something like this

Lombardi-Connolly-Frattin
Brown-Steckel-Rosehill/Orr/Ashton

Lombardi/Connolly and Steckel are softer then butter. Frattin and Ashton, while "tough" arent fighters.

We now ice a lineup with two heavyweights, a mid-heavy in Fraser, and a mid weight in Brown. I agree that Carlyle is having an influence, but the muscle on our team has increased.

Kadri was somewhat questionable the past few seasons, but with Eakins tutelage he has really ironed out a lot of his wrinkles.

Glad he's here. He's competing not just to play, but to win.

Easy to play like that when you can pound the living piss out of & take runs at the other teams top guys like Orr did the other night. Take a run at Kadri and Orr will take a run at your skilled guys, and it'll probably do more damage.
