Are we going to pay Condra 5 million or how are we going to reach the cap floor? If Alfie and Gonchar is gone next season I think we're like 10+ millions under it.

Time to dip into the free agency pool, I think. Or else trade for temporary large contracts until our rookies come off their ELCs.

Lots of flash but not a lot of production. My main concern is about where you use this player when the team is healthy. Perhaps he fills a role similar to Mike Comrie a few years back?
He'd need waivers to go back to Bingo next year so re-signing him and hoping to squeeze more development out of him in the minors probably isn't an option. I'm leaning towards a traded right now.
Daugavins:
Let him walk. I'm still somewhat surprised they brought him back this season.
Condra:
Re-sign for 2 years with a slight raise. He's versatile and can play in many different spots without hurting you.
Dziurzynski:
Another player who can't go back to the AHL next year without being exposed to waivers - not sure if he's a player that would be on the radar for a claim though. Not sure what sort of role the team envisions for him - he doesn't fight enough to be an enforcer type and his AHL numbers wouldn't suggest he can produce enough offence to stick around either.
Need to see more, but I'd guess I'd give him a two-way right now and hope to sneak him through waivers next fall.
Wiercioch:
Re-sign to a two-year, one-way deal and hope for more development over the summer.
Bishop:
Trading him at the draft seems likely.
Hoffman:
Tough call; his injury came at such a bad time. Another player that would have to be exposed to waivers next fall to go back to the AHL. Not sure what to do - I think we'd lose him off waivers but I'm not sure there's a spot for him Ottawa.
Maybe a trade? Don't imagine we'd get much.
Cowick:
He's made progress this year. Give him a two-way and see if he can keep improving.
Borowiecki:
Re-sign him to a one-year, two-way deal. His game needs a little more refinement (maybe more than Sens brass originally thought?) but he'll get here eventually.
Caporusso:
Turn him loose. No sense wasting contract slots on an ECHL player.
Alfredsson:
It's up to him.
Latendresse:
Is he ever going to play again? He's constantly injured, and even when he was healthy he looked far too slow to play in MacLean's system. Don't see him back.
Regin:
Another player that spends more time on the IR than the ice. I'd give him the rest of the year to prove himself - it's in his hands now.
Gonchar:
Trade him if we're out of the running at the deadline. Let him walk back to Pittsburgh otherwise.
Lundin:
Don't really know what management saw in this player. I'd look to trade him and failing that just let him go.
Benoit:
Not sure. Seems like he could be an adequate seventh defenceman in the NHL. Depends what happens on the trade/UFA front I guess.

RFA
DaCosta - 1 way contract; league minimum to 1M - 1 or 2 years so we can gauge him better.
Daugavins - Let him walk. We have too many bottom 6ers. We have many other players that can fill his role.
Condra - Sign; 1 way contract; league minimum to 1.2M - 2-3 years. Good bottom 6er. Gritty, decent speed, hardworker, I'd like to see him stay.
Dziurzynski - Sign; 2 way contract. Let him develop more and toss him some odd games in the NHL. Let's see if he can continue to develop in the AHL.
Wiercioch - Sign; 1 way contract. Bring him up the NHL, he's ready. 2-3 year at league min-1.2M. Has found good chemistry with the team so far (nice pass to Turris, great stretch passes). Runedblad-lite with better defensive skills/more physical.
Bishop - Trade for picks or a top/mid level prospect. Andy/Lehner tandem.
Hoffman - Tough decision, but 2 way contract for 1-2 more years. Needs time to recover from injury and doesn't need to be rushed in the NHL. Give him odd games in the NHL once he's healthy. Allow him to develop more in AHL; hopefully his scoring abilities continue to progress.
Cowick - 1 contract to Bingo or let him walk.
Borowiecki - Sign; 2 way contract for 1-2 years. Needs to work on his speed and defensive game a little more. No need to rush him, allow him to develop some more.
Caporusso - 1 way to Bingo or let him walk.
UFA
Alfredsson - Do whatever he wants.
Latendresse - Unless he returns and tears it up, let him walk.
Regin - Depending on the severity of his injury and how he plays, let him walk. If he does well the rest of the season, re-sign, but he's too injury prone and he's pretty soft.
Gonchar - Trade deadline; get some picks to finish off this rebuild.
Lundin - Trade deadline/let him walk.
Benoit - Trade deadline/let him walk.
Jessiman - 1 way contract to Bingo or let him walk.
Lawson - 2 way contract in case of goaltender emergencies.[/QUOTE]
DaCosta- resign to a short term deal
Daugavins- short term deal, 2-way preferably
Condra- resign for sure. 3-5 years
Dziurzynski- short term 2-way deal
Wiercioch- resign to a short term 1-way deal
Bishop- we'll probably have to trade him. too many goalies, too little net
Hoffman- is he really out of his ELC yet? resign to a 2-way
Cowick- resign to a 2-way
Borowiecki- resign to a 2-way
Caporusso- let him explore, resign to a cheap 2-way for bingo
UFA
Alfredsson- let him do whatever he wants. sign him if possible
Latendresse - walk
Regin- walk
Gonchar- still very valuable. if we havent traded him (unlikely), sign him to a 1,2 year deal
Lundin- sign him to a 2 way
Benoit- sign him to a 2 way
Jessiman- sign him to a 2 way
Lawson- let him walk
