You current team traded Craig Anderson for Brian Elliott because something happened and Anderson did not want to play for your organization anymore.

Something stinks in Colorado and it's too bad; don't ignore it. And falling back on past cup on our forum just makes you look like a reject from the Maple Leafs board.

The Colorado Avalanche are not good. They haven't been good for nearly 10 years. Their one good year was on the back of Craig Anderson.

So sorry that Sherman has ran your team into the ground but that's your problem not ours.

And it was not a good goalie trade because it was a trade you never had to make in the first place. You nickel-and-dimed a legitimate starter in Craig Anderson and parlayed him into a nothing asset called Brian Elliott who you let walk for nothing in return. You then traded a top 10 pick, which a rebuilding team grossly needs, for an unproven and oft-injured goalie that wasn't going to be capable enough to steal games for you and keep you out of lottery contention.

Erik Johnson for Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk. That is all.

Yes the avs have been struggling the last few years, but they are working on it and have a plan. Until the senators actually win the cup, I would stop throwing stones at teams that actually have.... ONE OF THE WORST RUN

I, for one, have been convinced by this eloquent and cogent argument.

Might as well pack in the towels gentlemen.

It's been a fine run, but it's time to dismantle the Ottawa franchise.

So apparently Murray has spoken to Tampa about Marc-Andre Bergeron?

Let me be the first to ask: why?

I gave u the stats of both org and the avs have accomplished far more than u have. Do they have major issues, yes they do. But to say they are one of the worst run org based on the goalie and ej trade( which have worked well for them) is a little weak. As you can see I'm not calling anyone mad or crazy or any names. If the senators are the better org, show me the stats, unless of course winning is not the yardstick used to measure sports org...

The Avs great run came off the backs of the Nordiques. Since they had to move past the Joe Sakic era, they've done nothing of note since.
Going to have to disagree. Sherman has been a very good GM for the Avs. His trades are usually good, and he does a good job at getting affordable contracts as well. I will agree with you on Sacco. He should not be coach at this point.

Anderson was never anything more than a stop gap for the Avs. By the time the Avs core matured to where they would be a contender Anderson would not be a good option. Anderson had one good year and wanted to be paid on long term for that one good year, that is why he was let go. Varlamov looks like he is going to be an excellent goalie, far exceeding the talent level of Anderson once he and the Avs future defense core mature.

Anderson is a good goalie, but he just doesn't have the raw talent Varlamov does. Only time will tell if Varlamov puts it all together though.

Mathieu Darche for conditional 7th rounder? He's at least as good an option as what we have coming up from the A at the moment...

Goalies are notoriously guilty of never living up to their potential.

I'll take the guy who is playing at an elite level since he arrived.

They're completely different style goaltenders.

Varly rely's on his athletic and agility where as Andy is all about angling. Hard to compare the 2 styles.

I'm not a fan of athletic goalies.

They're much more inconsistent.

We've had our fair share, that's for sure.
