Petiot

Do you think this guy will see regular ice time for us one day? I wonder how physical he will be after college. Anyone have any thoughts on his play?

If you have a good cable package or a dish. He is playing this weekend. He is a very solid defenseman, very good positionally. Closest similarity on the Kings roster is Miller.
He'll be a big physical NHL top 6 d-man. I think he'll be top 4

He lays some beeeeefy checks, I've seen him play live and he can be nasty. I think he'll become a good 5th Dman.

I've only seen him play once, at the prospects game 2 years ago, and I missed the first period where Cammy scored 2 goals. But, the two periods I saw, Petiot was the most impressive of all the prospects. He was positionally sound, making body checks, poke checks, and dominating defensively.

wait and see

i've been to about half the CC home games this year and quite a few the last 2 years. Petiot is 6' 4" and typically towers over most of your typical NCAA players. He does like to go for the big hit (and gets some penalties for it) but also often takes himself out of position in going for the big hit and leads to outmanned attacks. I think he can be a Miller-like player, but i think he skates a bit better than Miller. He usually doesn't play on the CC pp so unless he finds some magic elixir i doubt we'll get much offense from him. He's got lots of upside given his size, but I don't think we will be able to tell what level he can contribute at until he moves on to the next level (probably Manchester) and we see what he can do there against bigger players.

There's still some folks in Manchester hoping he does well in the NCAA tournament and heads to Manchester when that raps up....

edit: my reference to "still" some folks is because UNH is also in the NCAA tournament and a lot of us are UNH fans...

Just made a great play keeping a bouncing puck in the zone-feeds a nice pass to Brett Sterling who scored to give CC the lead again just after Colgate tied it.
