You seriously think Burke would want Kessel on Anaheim roster? The difference in 09 leafs and 13 Ducks is that the latter already has dynamic scoring winger(s).

He did make sure Leafs had JVR, Kessel and Lupol. So why not Perry, Ryan and Kessel?

Good for Burkie.

Still wish he never got fired here... He was a great GM that took all the heat of his young team.

Job well done here! thanks for everything!

Sad to see Burke leave the organization. I feel like Burke would have been in top of the world right now if he was still GM. Oh well, life goes on. Best of luck to him.

What? So your logic is that Burke made mistakes in negotiations; but in a crazy plot twist, it wasn't Burke who did any of the negotiating

I'm sure the Ducks hate the idea of bringing back the GM who was responsible for them winning the cup? The hate is strong with this one.

Good on the Ducks, and best of luck to Brian. Biggest mistake MLSE has made in a long time, is firing Burke.

There was new ownership right? It wasn't the same group who hired him.

As I understand it, whatever we pay him is deducted from what MLSE owes him. Part time scouts are not paid well.

Might perhaps put question marks on Kessel resigning in Toronto. Dont know how it would work out with the cap but I reckon Selanne and Koivo do be gone by then so they should be able to afford him.

Think sunny LA would suit Kessel like a fish in water.
Why would Burke being a scout in Anaheim do anything to affect Kessel in Toronto?

Man, people will grasp at anything, logic be damned

There was an article few months ago when Burke was the GM of USA hockey club. Burke was really impressed with Kessel and his general demeanor compared to his team mates in terms of being professionally dressed at like 6 in the morning. The writer also went on to say that Burke was so impressed that he vowed to get Kessel on his team.
