Jared Knight (BOS) for Nino Neiderieter (NYI)

I think the trade would help both teams sending out unhappy NN to the Bruins and moving JK to the ISlanders as there is no room for Knight on the current roster?

Nino has a brighter NHL future, and holds significantly higher trade value. If you want to make this closer, have Boston add a 1st and the Isles add a 2nd. Even then, I'd say it leans heavily in Boston's favor.

No thanks. Isles think Nino can still develop into a 30 goal pf.

Snow and Cairns were at last night's Sound Tiger game. The announcers said Cairns was on the bench and Nino responded with one of the best games of his season: very physical, throwing big hits and scoring a short handed goal.

Nino's agent has said in back to back interviews, that he doesn't expect Nino to be dealt.

WTF??? Nino will be on the Islanders within the next month, trust me...

Knight also does not have the potential that Nino has...

From all reports out of LI, Nino is NOT being shopped.

If he were to be traded, I would think that he'd return quite a bit more than Jared Knight. Plus, Knight doesn't fill a need for the Isles.

Not interested in Boston's late first. How many yrs, until that pick is in the NHL and contributing? I expect Nino back on LI, either sometime this season or next season.

The OP wishes this trade would happen for a reason, but there's no chance it does.

I thought Knight was supposed to be a top 6 player? Why trade for Nino?

Not that I think this is a trade that the Islanders should do, but by your comment I don't think you are giving Knight the proper credit. He would help the team and they could use a guy like him in my opinion, just not at the cost of NN. Just because it wouldn't be a good deal for the Islanders doesn't mean Knight isn't going to be a good player and one who just might be more NHL ready than NN and fill a need for them,as in the need for good forwards who are defensively responsible and can still score some goals. He is comparable to Brandon Dubinsky, certainly they could use a player like that.

He wouldn't crack the top 6 in Boston any time soon, but neither would Nino.

Isles would rather give their own potential, 2nd/3rd liners a chance.

Brock Nelson- solid two way player, with 2nd line upside, in the AHL.
Sundstrom -solid two way player, with 2nd line upside, in the AHL.
Kabanov-has surprised me with his physical play along the boards and behind the nets. At worst I think KK will be a big, physical 3rd liner.
Persson-defensively responsible forward in the AHL.
Ullstrom-speedy two way player in the isles bottom six. Fans want him in the top 6.
Cizikas- hardworking, energy player in the isles bottom 6.

Niederreiter is a better than Knight right now and there is a high probability that he will be for the rest of their respective careers. Bad trade for the Islanders.

Negative.

He projects to be a 3rd line energy guy. I think Boston hoped he would develop the same way Lucic and Marshmont developed. (Both Lucic and Marshmont projected to be 3rd / 4th line energy guys at the draft and both developed into top-6 forwards).

Right now, Knight projects to be a 10-15-35, 3rd line energy guy. Not much more than that.

Nino is worth more than Knight. Easily.

Boston needs to add, and even then I'm not sure the Isles even consider it.

Knight's ceiling has long been considered lower than Niederreiter's, with injuries limiting him to just 5 games split between the AHL/ECHL, I'd say that gap is significantly larger right now.

This one's not close. Closing down.
