After Eakins?

IF he leaves, who would you want as your new Marlies coach?

Dineen or King, the assistant coaches right now for the Marlies. They have been there since Eakins was hired, so they are very familiar with the players and what's expected. Eakins might bring them with him if he does get a NHL gig at the end of the year.

I wouldn't mind perhaps going with Doug Gilmour now that he's had experience coaching in the OHL.

I really want him to stick around until randy is gone. Would love to see him behind the leafs bench one day.

This.

But I bet Eakins gets an offer on an NHL gig sooner rather than later.

Although I was watching a little special on Leafs TV about Eakins, where I said he was offered a better contract elsewhere but decided to stay in Toronto because that is what his wife wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if the Leafs brass told Eakins he will be the coach of the Leafs one day, if he is patient enough

Yeah, I agree with Gilmour. If he's willing to leave Kingston that is.

Gord Dineen for sure. Been with the Marlies since 2009, probably has the best grasp on the players and of course has helped with their development (with Eakins).

I agree with those that say Wilson. Look at how well Kadri's game looks this year. The guy knows who to develop young hockey players

Jon Cooper coach of Norfolk last year and now Sayracuse, that team played played up tempo ever shift, turned Conacher and Panik into nhl'ers. Scoop him up. Gilmour is a terribel coach, great player but not a coach.

I think Eakins is gone int he next 18 months. His replacement is likely one of his assistants (unless they go with him).

Could be a good opportunity for Killer to make the jump to the professional coaching circle.

They already do. But he wants to grow as well. Money isnt everything. He wants his name on the Cup too, remember.

Is all this talk lately about Eakins leaving just speculation?

What's the point of this thread. "Eakins" and "leaving Toronto" haven't even been brought up in the same sentence.
