We certainly have some educated people here, that have given a diagnosis and that's 1 to 2 weeks so lets err on the long side and say 2 weeks and if he returns earlier, so much the better.

Scrivens has proven himself a capable back-up goal tender and should along with Rynnas, be able to post wins and the way the Leafs have been playing lately, I'm not feeling as though the season is slipping away.

It appears Rynnas, is playing tonight in Hamilton for the Marlies, at least that's what they were saying on Leafs TV, I guess it's a tune up for him, I don't anticipate him getting into any games with the Leafs but you never know.

You do realize that if it hadn't been for Reimer the Leafs wouldn't have had the opportunity score the goals that they did. In Montreal He made key saves in the 1st and 2nd to keep it 1-0 and then 2-0, if it wasn't for those saves then Montreal scores and gains momentum to come back. Same thing against Philly, he made key saves to keep the score at 1-0 and allowed the Leafs to come back and gain momentum. The score could've easily been 2 or 3-0 Philly.

I truly hope so. He's nowhere near NHL ready.

Where is he ever comparing Reimer to Price?

Read what he said.

I think he's trying to say Reimer is as important to the Leafs as Price is to the Habs..

Infact the Habs rely much more on Price because when he's off his game, that team has no chance. The Leafs on the other hand survived despite getting terrible goaltending last year for at least 2-3 months before exploding.

Plus, I don't care who the better goalie is. Scrivens and Reimer have both beaten Price this year, this team is 2-0 against the Habs this year, who cares if Price is the better goalie if he can't help his team win against us?

I agree that he's been playing well. But three weeks ago we weren't even sure who our starter was.. most leaf fans were talking two options: trade for luongo or stick with scrivens/reimer and tank it. Nobody gave him much of a chance of carrying the team into the playoffs, but now that he's hurt the sky is falling.

Ok bad choice of words.. but were still 7th in the league in goals per game... i think that's pretty good. just saying there hasn't been a game where I've said after "thank god for Reimer keeping us in it." He's been average, were so used to horrible goaltending that people are starting to think he's a lot more than he is.

I was just looking, it isn't on Leafs TV and it may not be televised.

I just checked the Marlies site and it's not televised only radio TSN 1050

Hear you buddy. Still recovering from a ruptured quad tendon. 10 months ago. Finally able to run, ski etc. Still swells. Nasty injury.

Reimers sounds mild, but even being out a week will throw him off the groove he was in. Leafs are going to find out what they have in a scrivens in the next week. Looked good coming in cold against Philly.

Ive said it several times, including the short handed robbery of Read last night. Spectacular save!

Fantastic news, should only miss about 5 or so games, some were gonna go to scrivens anyway.

Who's our backup though for the next bit? Rynnas?

You forgot about the most important part of big saves like that... momentum. Do you really think the leafs would have scored 5 unanswered goals if Reimer didn't stand on his head? No, It doesn't work like that.

It's a bit of a shame that just as Reimer seemed to be getting his game together after a slow start, he goes down. Oh well, seems like Scrivens is picking it up where Reimer left off. He looked all right last night shutting down the Flyers. Not overly worried if we have to go with Scrivens for a while, assuming the team keeps playing like they have recently. Team defense >>>>>>>>> goaltending.

Very transparent about this kind of injury but no so transparent about whiplash/concussion/neck injuries.

I guess Randy Carlyle is just an honest guy.

We're going to be ok boys. Between now and March 6th we have just 10 games. (Theres a good break between Feb 28 - March 4th) So even if he's going to be out for 3-4 weeks thats just 10 games and he can come back on March 6th. Worst case scenario we go 3 wins 7 losses. we are still a .500 team. A .500 team at the half way mark isn't all bad... You likely only need 3-4 games above .500 to get into the post season. Anything above 3-7 is just a bonus.

Lets consider these next 10 games

1: Carolina
2: Ottawa
3: Florida
4: Tampa
5: Buffalo
6: Ottawa
7: Philly
8: Montreal
9: Islanders
10: Devils.

3 wins should be cake. If we can't get 3 wins against those teams we aren't a playoff team anyways. I say we go minimum 5-5 and we're still a couple of games up I'm just using 3-7 as a worst case scenario - and in that case the season won't be lost. So everyone CALM DOWN.

5-5 is what I would guess as well. If we can stay at .500 until Reimer gets back I'll be happy. This is assuming he's out for that long.

Yes, or make it worse if it's not healed properly.
