Your right it was a recommendation, your posts although not completly useless generally act substance and logic. I personally feel if you learn a bit about the game you can be a productive member of this board.

I agree that we have to avoid it, but I also think this team has a good possibility of being able to avoid it. Lot stronger heads are in the locker room, better leadership too, McClement >Steckel/Lombardi, Kadri > Connolly (speaking in terms of energy\desire\passion), and most importantly Komarov, who IMO is the unsung hero for this team.

Honestly, I see quit in Phaneuf, hence why I don't like him as a captain, he has mental lapses in his game, that are more because a lack of effort then ability, sometimes his compete level just isn't apparent. Komarov wins at all costs, he has that hatred for losing, he stirs the opposition up not because he's a D-bag like an Avery, but he does it strategically, to gain an advantage. Nothing on the ice is personal to him, it's all strategy. You can tell, by his off-ice interviews.

Love the way he stirred up Montreal, he got right under their skin, makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, knowing how incredibly well he threw the Canadiens off of their games.

I respectfully disagree. I think the main board is far more balanced than this one. Just my opinion but the appraisals for Leafs property I read here are far more optimistic than the main boards'. So I agree that the main board is more useful for learning about hockey, but that's not to say I haven't been reading it for a while now since Ive been a member here way longer than you and many other posters.

Most importantly, we've strategically eliminated the tail stretch of the season this time around where we collapsed last year. If '11-'12 was 48 games we would've been golden.

I must admit, when Holzer got the 5 min penalty, I was a bit nervous.

Seemed like the perfect recipe to ruin a high note for a team.

I.E
-#1 goalie goes down, crowd shocked
- Cold goalie comes in
- could be a much closer game going into the third.

And instead of folding, the Leafs killed off the PP in great fashion. Minus that one chance by Schenn, but it was the only notable one in 5 mins.

obviously you don't watch close enough if you are not happy with Grabovski's overall game

while I am cautiously optimistic there is one thing the leafs are doing this year that I don't recall them doing last year pre-collapse and that is they are not squeaking out wins. The are often the better team on the ice.

I would tend to agree with this statement. That being said, I don't think we can start comparing him to guys like Bergeron et al. just yet. And he really needs to score just a TINY bit more.

Other than that he has been pretty darn good.

Surprisingly, yes. Even more surprising? The ACC crowd was pretty damn great from what I could tell. Loud reactions, standing ovations (especially after that major penalty kill), etc. Maybe the entire league ragging on how awful the ACC fans are had something to do with it, but having been to live games and experienced an awesome atmosphere at the ACC on several occasions, I'm inclined to think the great reception was more due to the fact that the Leafs quickly recovered from their first period stumble, turned up the dial and gave the fans something to cheer about.

Need to win the next 2 and I think we are in play. Canes are hot now and Sens will be a gong show, but they need at least 3 points from the next 2.

How the Canes are doing at any moment is irrelevant considering that the Leafs are always hard pressed to win games against them. I'd like to see them go 5 straight but it's hard to be optimisitc given the team's track record against them and after their last game against the Canes, there's no much to be too optimistic about, haha. As for Ottawa, I find that no matter how good or bad either team is doing, the teams kind of even up over the course of the year. Even with the loss of Spezza, Anderson is playing strong in net and very much gives his team a chance to win. I'm still happy with the 4 wins in a row...I just hope it isn't followed up with a losing streak.

Losing Spezza is such a huge, huge loss for the Sens. Is there any other team in the whole league that relies so heavily on a single skater?

Best home game I've been to in a long time. Crowd was enthused and the Team played pretty well.

All four lines played well, only thought Franson seemed to be fighting the puck a bit. He looked like a bag of hammers a few times.

I'm sure this has been said, but easily the best part of this game was watching JVR burn Schenn wide for a gino. You just know Philly fans were shaking their heads at that one.
