Tonight they looked good. Does this spark a goaltending controversy though? I doubt it since it was actually good D, coupled with a sputtering Blues team that lead to the win.
No matter what, the Kings finally won and held a lead the entire game.
No, but it may improve Bernier's trade value somewhere down the line.
I can think of 3 or 4 teams that could use him immediately.
This is how you cover for defensive injuries, control the flow of the game so that the defense rarely gets out of position. Everyone on that defense played extremely well, and it's nice to see the team have two top lines. That Carter line was flying all game.
i always feel bad for penner when i see him in interviews.
He's a super nice dude. Honestly the Kings barely started looking like a hockey team against Detroit in their 10th game, and Penner's played what? 4? He should get the same chance as the rest of the team to play his way into shape.
Penner with an assist and +1. Dare I say he played with... passion?
Penner played awesome. I hope he can keep that up and stay in the lineup because he's a great person. I don't think his struggles so far this year were for a lack of trying; he's probably been up in his own head too much because he knows what's riding on this season for him personally.
I thought Penner was pretty bad, despite the assist. However, I still want him to play to let him get his confidence back.
I'm amazed you thought Penner played poorly. He was moving his feet, out muscling people below the goal line, and making safe plays with the puck. I don't think he made one "bad" play.
All this Ellerby being a top pair guy / Mitchell replacement is a little silly.
I've atched him since he came up and trust me guys you are in for some rollercoaster type emotions with this kid. With that said I've always enjoyed watching him play but in the end, imHo, he is a serviceable 4 and a great 5-6.
Oh and dont get all upset I'm merely giving my .02. Then again I am a HUGE Richards fan and think all the hate on the guy is silly since I've watched him since he was 16 so take what I say with a grain of salt

Trading Bernier at this point is nonsense. Quick hasn't been un to his game this year. Short season, you need all the wins you can get and Bernier showed tonite that he can contribute. And Quick needs to feel some kind of pressure. That 10 year contract was pure madness!

Yeah, I mean it could happen, but betting on him replacing either Mitchell or Scuderi after one shortened season, no matter how well he might play, would be a HUGE gamble.

He played a good game but still does not seem in good shape.
um i noticed the goal bernier gave up was from the point again Im wondering if maybe jb has eye issues ? As a fan im not sure does the phyical at the beginning of the year do eye tests ? Otherwise happy king fan seeing ellerby play 20mins and clifford up with carter on the 2nd line. I would love to see jb play another game in a row The kings proberly wouldnt do that sadly,

Might have something to do with the fact that he had a Blue and a King standing right in front of him...
