Are either of these in danger tonight ?

Question: What's the highest scoring game in NHL history?
Answer:
The most goals scored by one team in an NHL game was 16. The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Quebec Bulldogs 16-3 on March 3, 1920.

In the same season, Montreal helped set the record for most goals scored by two teams in a single game. The Canadiens and Toronto St. Patrick's combined for 21 goals on January 10, 1920, with Montreal winning 14-7. The Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks tied the record on December 11, 1985. The Oilers won 12-9.
I think each team may hold a five goal lead at some point during the game as well.

Wasn't it the first game for Ilya in Atlanta as a Devil? AFAIK
I think it was the second or third. Definitely not the first. Kovy was traded in 09-10 and I remember the Devils win that first game he came back. The Boulton game was Hedberg's first back in Atlanta though.

Yep, yep.

Looking forward to this game tonight. The matchups against the Flyers have been very entertaining for a couple years. Glad to see Byfuglien back.

Won't get to see SC but B. Schenn and Simmonds are fun to watch. But their blueline is not as tough as teams we have played agianst the last few games. With that D and Boucher in net maybe we see our GF bump up after this game.

Pumped to see Montoya get the nod. Hope he continues his strong play from last game and we get a little goaltender controversy going on. Not to the degree where it messes with Pavs mind but to a lesser degree, where he feels the heat to step up his game. Maybe this is spark needed at this time for his play to ignite.

Most important, I hope they keep up the smart play they showed in Ottawa. Lots of artciles saying they won a boirng game, lulled the Sens to sleep, etc. but I found the game to be as exciting as usual (beyond the expected emotion after we win). Good penalty killing, swarming the man in the o-zone, old fashioned hustle. Lots of fun to see.

Great weather today and a great game tonight!

Philladelphia played in Toronto last night.

We need to get our forcheck going, pressure their defence and hopefully tire them out.

Nice to see Byfluglien back in the lineup.

My goodness. Could you imagine the fan fare if Tony P scores and scraps in his first game. The post game show call in idiots will be calling for him to get a slot on the top line.

Flyers are obviously under performing this year and as it stands right now, I would honestly expect the JETS to win this game. That said, it seems like every time I expect the JETS to win, they pull a no show game.

Gonna go ahead and say JETS win 4 - 2 Wheeler, Kane, Jokinen and Redmond with the goals.

Wouldn't be surprised if Giroux and the Flyers use the JETS as a spring board to kick start their season and beat us 5 - 2 though.

The numbers don't really point to a team that is under achieving. The numbers actually suggest that the Flyers really aren't that good right now.

This isn't the Flyer team of last year. They are without Jagr, Hartnell, JVR and Carle. That is 3 top 6 forwards and their #1/2 all minutes D man. Luke Schenn can't make up for those losses.

Statistically speaking, the Jets have actually under achieved more than the Flyers. Of course we are looking at a small sample sizes, but that is what the numbers say.

I'd say Giroux and Briere are underachieving with some Jokinen style OnIceSh%

Not sure if it's been already posted elsewhere. Glad to have full value on these tickets, didn't want to see Boucher. Part of the fun of Flyers games is jeering Bryzgalov.

Dunno guys, Bryz has been solid against our Jets in the past

Jets 4-1 with an EN

Ladd, Burmi, Kane and Buff
Redmond 2 Assists

They definitely do have a couple players who are due a boost, but not quite as many as our boys.

EDIT

Admittedly a lot of the Jets numbers are on our goalies though... and IMO they have a better goalie so rhat may not change.
