Not overly upset.... Karma was all there for Tampa... They were getting screwed badly by the refs earlier in the game.

Pitkanen "lower body injury" is all I can find. Last time he had one of those it was the knee...

Judging by the ice time totals, would be a stretch to say that our 3rd line is now the 4th and the 4th now 3rd?

And if you guys are going to micro-analyze the standing after 25% of the season....I feel for ya. It's gonna be a long 2 1/2 months.

Just got back from the game. Everyone should start a fund me going to Hurricanes road game fund, I'm now 4-0-0-0.

Great game, but holy hell Jersey fans are vulgar. I saw a sequence of a minimum of 30 F-bombs dropped in about 30 seconds when a guy with his kid was trying to get to his seat at a stoppage. Was intense.

However great game overall even if it was sloppy. What happened to Pitkanen I don't recall seeing him much, if at all, in the 3rd.

Not happy about the results around the league, but if we handle our ****, it won't matter.

That was a fun night. Wasn't too sure I was going to escape this one intact. Lots of anger in the stands tonight haha.

If Joni is out long term, JR HAS to make a move or he should be fired.

Congrats guys, you deserved this one. You won the possession battle and it showed in the final score. But we'll get you next time

Sucks that a terrific road trip has to be marred by a key injury. I don't know if I can bear to see Sangs lace up the skates for us again this season.

As opposed to micro-analyzing every play and spouting "game over" because Cam is starting, or because they're on the PK in a tied game?

Canes are tied for 7th in the NHL and 3rd in the East in points percentage and 4th in goals per game. Let's just enjoy it.

EDIT: And for that matter, the entire top line is in the top 5 of +/- in the NHL.

I don't mind the micro analyzing when every game is worth a 4 point swing.. It would be really nice to not have to sweat during the last week of the season.

We're microanalyzing with 36 games left in the season, something we'd do in a regular schedule no doubt.

Every game on this schedule is important, there are no throwaway games available for ANYONE. The rest of the conference is relevant all season this year, whether you like it or not.

We're up a game with 36 to go, it's worth a look at the other teams in the league at this point to see if we can build a cushion.

I was at a party watching the State of the Union (and you know, drinking). Anyone want to give me a more subjective summary than what NHL.com offers?

a day off now, then a very winnable game against the Maple Laughs, then some time off. Get well Joni.

First things were bad, but not too bad, then things got better, then even better, then there was a big letdown, then things started looking really bad, but suddenly not so bad after all, then the officiating was really bad for a couple minutes, then we chewed on our fingernails for a while, then there was an empty-netter.

What I want to know is, what kind of supernerds inhabit a State of the Union party?

Leafs are undefeated since we beat them, even without Reimer I expect that to be a tough one.

As far as I can figure, we're a garbage franchise that shouldn't even exist and also we're the poster childs for diving in the NHL.

They beat the Habs, Jets, Flyers and Caps. Only one of them (MTL) is over .500 and Those four teams combined record is 22-25-4 and are a combined -22 on goal differential.

We're an elite top 3 team that will most likley win it's division playing a luke warm team without it's starting goalie at home that'll likley be at absolute zero and in the bottom 3 by March.

You'd think the words "New Jersey" and "elitist" would be mutually exclusive, but that's never been the case when it comes to Devils fans and the Canes.

It's just too bad for them the Canes own their behinds since 2002.

Me too. They're pretty well coached. Did they find some way to shut Semin down? All I heard was he had a couple of good shots. Can someone fill us in?
