Can't find any listings of the team awards anywhere. Thought the Sabres would have a section in their media guide thats located on their website but they just have a section on the awards given by the NHL to the Sabres. No love for their team awards. Maybe come next week in articles promoting Fan Appreciation Night (where the team will give out their individual awards), they will list all the past award winners. The team awards that will be given out in a pre-game ceremony are - MVP, Rookie of the Year and Unsung Hero. The Sabres will also give out a 7th Man Award to one of their fans.

I better be that 7th man. Showed up to 70% of the games and not once left early.

Also, lobby for tank commander award.

I'd say we have co-champions for that award... Weber-McBain as a pair.

Because he doesn't make the team worse, really. Well, he does and he sucks, but not as bad as Weber.

My admittedly-limited viewing of this team says it's a toss up between Weber and McBain. Leino is bad, but usually kind of invisible in his badness. McBain is prone to blatantly giving the puck away.

Can we rename the MVP award to the Bob Semple Award?

From wiki...
The Bob Semple tank was a tank designed by New Zealand Minister of Works Bob Semple during World War II. Originating out of the need to build military hardware from available materials, the tank was built from corrugated iron on a tractor base. Designed and built without formal plans or blueprints, it had numerous design flaws and practical difficulties, and was never put into mass production or used in combat.

Due to the limitations of requirements and resources, the tank was a functional failure. By using a large tractor as a base, and bolting on a hastily designed and poorly constructed tank superstructure, the resultant tanks were inadequately armored, extremely heavy (20-25 ton), unstable, restricted by tractor gearing to slow speeds, and had to stop to change gears. Furthermore, due to the shape of the underlying tractor and undue vibrations, shooting from the tank was both difficult and inevitably inaccurate.

It could be argued that Zemgus deserves all three.

Agreed. Really stepped up when he was the only veteran forward who didn't get traded .

How can you get Rookie of the Year, Team MVP and still be considered an Unsung Hero?

I think the list is fine. I was thinking of maybe putting Stafford as Unsung Hero but I think most of us agree he was giving his best effort most of the season.
