Mikko Koivu

So with a Minnesota journalist calling for Mikko Koivu's captaincy there have been questions about Koivu's leadership..

Is this a common thing among Wild fanbase or something some stupid journalist trumped up?

If its something real, who and how are you replacing Koivu with if he is forced to leave the captaincy behind and demand a trade (which I'm sure he will do, as he is someone who hates losing so much)?

Stupid journalist although, there are some fans that like to beat that drum. Amusing to some extent.

I have nothing to say to that certain journalist and anyone who agrees with him. Let's leave it at that.

Praise would be a better captain. Koivu has shown us nothing and the teams had no success with him as captain.

Anyone that isn't inside that locker room has no business saying who is a good captain.

That particular journalist is one of the biggest idiots to ever get published. He only shows up to sling crap, only when it's obvious enough for him to actually understand 10% of what's going on. He't not even a hockey guy. Enough said.

Koivu's a fine captain. If some of you believe he's that bad of a captain and that the Golden Boy should be captain, then you need to open your eyes - I'm serious. Just look at the way the other players treat Koivu, including Praise, and you can see the influence he has.

So he's frosty with the media after a loss. Who gives a ****. American media is a freakin plague, and most of it does nothing more than superficial massaging of the truth anyways.

I heard Kentucky Koivu used the C patch's powers for evil and that's why winter never ended.

It's so babyish of Parise to play lesser hockey and just generally mope around his teammates because he's constantly conscious of having an A on his jersey instead of a C.

I was already expanding on other peoples' statements. If turning Parise's picture of an easel into a sideways horseshoe makes the team better, doesn't it mean he either plays better with a C or clams up in the locker because he's a lowly A? I find that idea crazy, and I am pretty sure a jury of robotic space lions would agree with me.

So we all agree - if he was skating with a shattered pelvis and that's the reason the team went into the tank, then we apologize for being too harsh the Captain, otherwise we effing want to know where the eff he went. That's the consensus, right?

He's got to be injured. He doesn't skate like that, nor is he a lousy player.

Come on, he's been with the team for AGES. You've seen what Mikko Koivu can do. He's the NT captain, he is captain of the Minnesota Wild. The guy is a pure leader, and we're lucky to have him.

Wild blocks Koivu from playing at WC

I hope this is because of an injury.

In Finnish, though.

Trolling was not my meaning by posting this here, so apologies if someone took it that way. I am just genuinely, extremely pissed of by this! I've been a lurking fan of Minnesota for years so it's not like I'm coming out of left field here.

Let's just say it wasn't very reasonable :-) I didn't think clearly about the message content, especially regarding the forum where I was posting to. Heat of the moment.

Hard to believe it'd be because of anything but the long speculated injury.

The article doesn't say that the Wild blocked him from playing. The only thing it says is that the Wild "wishes" that he doesn't participate and apparently Koivu agreed.
