Leaf fans will hate this, but Edmonton needs bodies now. So I'd presume Tambellini would be asking for either Carl Gunnarsson or Cody Franson as the main piece returning there.
Obviously there would be more to the deal than a one-for-one, but with the lack of decent options, the price tag would be high.
As for Edmonton, they could make do with Yann Danis as the backup option for the remainder of the season.

The last thing Edmonton needs is more bodies, especially D. A 3rd or 4th would be about right, Habby is a good backup and mentor for younger goalies.

The Oilers dont need anymore draft picks, which is why a third was moved for Fistric.
And I'm not talking warm bodies, I'm talking skilled ones. If you don't think Carl Gunnarsson is a better option than Corey Potter, Theo Peckham or Ryan Whitney, there is a serious problem.
I am also in agreement with the third line centre option.
And Oilers fans might hate this one, but Tim Connolly is also an option.
Gives OKC a decent boost(Arcobello and Hamilton looked legit together in the AHL all-star game ), Oilers clear some salary, keeps contracts balanced and the Leafs essentially give up nothing for a capable 1b/back-up(for the time being, might change if he gets overworked).
Either that or just Khabibulin for Connolly. We need a center and I guess this would be a decent band-aid.
Edmonton needs a 3rd line center who can win face-offs.
You guys would be better off going for Luongo.
Absolutely not. IF Reimer is out for only a couple of weeks, we can run Scrivens/?. If he is out 4+weeks, we'd need a short term stopgap....(Habby or someone like him). The last thing we need, is to pay a monstrous price for a 33 year old on a long deal.

Habby would make sense for the leafs, and I do think he would be available. Dubynk looks good and they were fine befre Habby came back from injury.
Hell bring back Rolli the Goalie if they want a vet backup.

Done, I'd be willing to retain a bit of the salary too, say $1M
IF Reimer's injury keeps him out for a while, what would EDM need for Habby? UFA after this year, could help Scivens carry the load.
Reimer is out for a week or so.
Any goalie aquired, via trade, would eventually have to be waived once Reimer comes back, unless the leafs carry three goalies this year.
There are some UFA's that could be signed to jump in, in a stop gap role.

Report says "minimum" 1 week. You can count on 2-3 by the time he's back in game shape....possibly 7-10 games. This is were we will find out what Nonis' agenda really is. If it's develop the kids....no trade, but if it's make the playoffs....??
If that asset is Connolly?? I agree Scriv's can handle a couple of weeks, but he can't start EVERY game.....Rynnas?
That is different. Connolly is not an asset. He (like khabby) has zero to negative trade value cause of his contract. But people were starting to talk about khabby+ for gunner....that's not happening for a 1-2week rental
And don't count rynnas out, he has shown promise in the A. He's worth a look at least at some point....might as well be now *shrugs*

Either way, a temporary goalie can be either a signed UFA or Rynnas as the back up. No need whatsoever to trade for a player, that will have to be shortly released thereafter. That makes no sense at all.

We will only play 1 back-to-back while Reims is out. We will be fine.
