Stay home TT, stay home.
Those same "19/20" games could be a showcase for teams in need of a goaltender. IF Thomas played for the Isles, and IF he played like the Thomas we've seen, I'd imagine teams would be lining up to acquire him for a playoff run. I'd think Snow could easily get a 1st round pick for Thomas in that scenario. Snow will have turned a 2nd into a 1st = genius. If as expected Thomas doesnt play, Snow loses nothing, and gains the cost free cap. Win/ win for the Isles.

i think maybe lou misunderstood that note from katie strang. sounded to me like she was pointing out that the isles could use timmah, and that she contacted bill zito to check in.

Well, maybe that means she's offering to play goal for the Isles.

Nah. Sounds like TT has been sitting home enjoying family time, not working out to stay in shape. I question how high a pick he'd bring back.

I think Snow is likely to find a strong market for his d-men, Streit+ Vis though.

...and I want Rosie Jones (UK) to be my GF...

...Both are about as likely...

We both can dream.

Precursor to tolling the contract for another year?

Why wouldn't the isles toll it? They might get a free 5 mil towards the cap floor.

Wang would tackle Timmah before he skated a stride.

Either way, good play on Snow's part.

On whole the Islanders organization doesn't want him to play either. Then they have to pay him and lose their second rounder and they still wouldn't be much good.

I understand Wang just hired Jeff Gillooly as a "special assistant".

Just a good move by Snow. He wins either way. And so do the Bruins.
I also think it might be some PR kinda thing, but even if he plays (which I don't think will happen) they either make the playoffs or they got a great piece for a trade.

With that mediocre defense, so-so forwards and paltry depth in front of him?

Yah he is.

Julien's stingy defensive system and strong roster depth made TT what he was.

Otherwise the flopping fish show flailing around out of position would be a nightmare that even guts and effort would be unable to overcome.

BS. He carried bad teams in 06 and 07. He was one of the lone bright spots on that 07 club.

Second time in two years that Chia has used the islanders to ditch a contract (Alexandrov last year). Visnovsky wants to ditch his deal with them. They're still paying out Yashin. Maybe we should call it the Island of Lost Contracts.

SO much fail in this post. If you really believe this, then you must also unequivocably state that Julien's system has also made Rask what he is today. Just a hunch, but I'll bet you're not willing to do that.

Yeah, any goalie would see his stats take a hit playing behind that team. But Thomas bailed out so many mistakes by the Bruins D corps that it made them look better as much if not more than they made him look better. Your "flopping fish show" comment shows a severe lack of understanding of the game, a clear desire to crap on Thomas, or most likely, both.

I think Thomas would come back this year if he got an extension. Play the rest of this year. Gets 2yr/8m for 13/14 and 14/15 seasons.

The issue I raised is whether or not Julien's suffocating defensive system has inflated TT's stats.

Pretty easy to find an answer - just look at his B's numbers before and after Claude - and his system arrived.

Before Julien:
108 GP
.910 GAA

After Julien
270 GP
.925 GAA

That disparity is not a coincidence.

Whether you are a devout TT disciple or not a fan, numbers don't lie.

In a porous defensive system (i.e. Bruins per-Julien) Thomas was a.902 save percentage goalie. That's mediocre.

You put a defense-first system in front of him, and suddenly he leaps to .925 save percentage -- and that total is actually dragged down some by his injury year of 2009-2010, I mean come on. Proof is there.
