In my opinion, i've noticed more effort out of the Wingels-Handzus-Sheppard line than most during this streak... They've created a lot of opportunities.
Agreed. They have been really good, by eye and by advanced metrics.
Speaking for advanced metrics, the problem last night was Thornton/Pavelski/Havlat/sorta Clowe and the 4th line, as far as forwards go. Marleau and Couture were both well above water and the third line or Sheppard/Handzus/Wingels was great again.
Matt Pelech was a -12 Corsi events, worst on the team by four. And that was with just 11 minutes of ice time. Get him the **** out of here.
Desi put on IR I believe. Someone brought up a good point that DW uses the worcester shuttle when the team is traveling nearby, to get a look at the prospects while they are in the region.
The first line would be great at dominating on the cycle. The second and third lines would be good on the transition and on the cycle.
I would even be tempted to swap up Havlat with Clowe or just stick Galiardi on the top line. Thornton's greatest ability is his ability to score with players of moderate talent.

Curious to your reasoning for having Clowe with Thornton. I'm not a fan at all of that duo.
Personally, I want to see Galiardi or Wingels with Thornton for a couple games just to see if they're remotely compatible. That would do wonders for our depth if one of them were.

Well, I'm not blaming Pelech so much as the coaching staff.
He was there to beat the snot out of the opposition. That's not something that translates well into Corsi.
He did his job. Better to have Pelech fighting then Clowe...
I don't understand the issue with inserting a tough guy against a team that tends to goon it up, especially onto a line that has been anything but useful so far. Pelech didn't have anything to do with the way the rest of the lineup played yesterday.
Also guys no need to worry. DW found the winger this team has needed in a long time. We're golden now.
I know you're being sarcastic but Kennedy has been the best player on the ice for Worcester this season and if he's put in the right situation, that play could translate to the NHL.

I agree. I think Kennedy could do well with Gomez.
Remember how everyone kept saying Burish would be a fan favorite? The dude has to be the most invisible player on the team. I never notice him on the ice, off the ice, or anywhere besides capgeek when I'm trying to get under the cap.
When I've made a point of looking for him, aside from the PK, he does nothing of any note on the ice. Frankly I noticed Pelech quite a bit more (not just because he's a giant either) because he was at least out there getting in peoples faces. Is this guy just another in a long line of agitators that comes to the Sharks for their career to die?

Burish doesn't fit our team. Todd doesn't play a physical smash mouth game like other teams. He may be good on the PK but for 1.8m he's useless.
