Who will land Kekalainen?

Jarmo Kekalainen has been a brilliant amateur head scout for years. And now, he has been touted as a possible GM replacement in this very offseason. Who will land Kekalainen?

No one. Quote me on this, he won't be given the GM position in any of those teams.

Am I the only one that looked him up on hockeydb thinking he was a free agent/prospect?

Why would the Avs and Jets be looking for a new GM? Sherman has made some good moves, and Cheveldayoff was just hired.

Why would Sherman be replaced?

Adding EJ, McGinn, Downie, and Varly... Terrible job

I don't think he wants an NHL yet anyway.

The correct answer is Chief of scouting for the Blues

Ottawa should have given him the job year ago instead of going with Muckler. He's going to be very good wherever he goes.

Definitely won't be the Avs as Sherman's done an excellent job.

I hope he'd replace Tambellini with the Oilers.

Jarmo has done amazing work turning Jokerit from a laughing stock in Finland to one of the most respected professional organizations in SM-Liiga. In just about 1 year.

Nowhere yet. I expect it will be another year before we see Kekäläinen return to an NHL team.

Like the other Blues fans have said, I hope it is to an Eastern team. The part Jarmo played in getting the Blues to where they are now can't be underestimated.

Jarmo is awesome, he is a big part of why the Blues are so succesfull now. He just left to run his own team in Finland (Jokerit) about a year ago so Im not sure how soon he will want to come back, I think he will make a great GM some day though.

Montreal is my guess.

Aside from a language barrier, Montreal is a uniquely European city and team which would be the best fit for Kekalainen to break into the NHL management game.

GMGM may be fired this offseason so the caps are a possibility

and why would you make such a short list for something so random or hard to tell

No NHL team this season but lets say somewhere in the next 5 years it could be a legit possibility. He left NHL to be the GM of Jokerit (a Helsinki team) in order to get experience and to showcase his talent. If I remember correctly he said that his dream is to manage a NHL someday.

I doubt Calgary changes GM's sense its the owners that want to compete not the GM. I think he goes to San Jose if they don't go deep.

None. I think he'll stay with the Blues at least through next off-season.

I'd love to see him in Montreal, but because of the dumb language policies, it's not going to happen.

He left the Blues after the 2010 draft, he runs Jokerit now in Finland.
