Here is the quote from JD that I LOVE-
"It's something I said when I got here, that I’d watch and evauluate," Davidson told The Dispatch tonight. "I wanted to make a change in that area. I've been thinking more and more about it in recent days. It’s a hard thing, but something I felt in my gut I needed to do."
There is no question about who is in charge. Notice there are no "we" or "the owner" in that quote.
not sure that Jarmo is the right guy...not overly impressed with his drafts at first glance
His drafts were Ottawa in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Then it's St. Louis for 2003-09.
Ottawa's 2000 draft netted Anton Volchenkov, Greg Zanon, and Antoine Vermette. 2001 was Jason Spezza, Tim Gleason, Ray Emery, Brooks Laich, and Christoph Schubert. 2002 was...let's not talk about that.
The backbone of St. Louis' ability to rebuild after a short trip to the bottom was based on the development of their draft classes from 2003-05.
I like. The next few days should be interesting I wonder what Howson did (or didn't do) to get fired.
I would venture to guess looking at some of the contracts on the CBJ and the challenge they are likely to have moving them may have had something to do with it. Not to mention the possible handling of the Nash deal.
My Finnish friends tell me Kekalainen is on 3rd year of a 5 year deal to manage Jokerit, but has an NHL out clause. Jokerit leads FIN league
Bob seems to think its going to be him

Jarmo is the man, plain and simple. Even though JD and Armstrong get much of the (deserved) credit for the Blues turnaround, Jarmo deserves an equal amount. I was fortunate enough to meet Jarmo and JD at the 2010 Draft, just after they had announced that Jarmo would be leaving. I got a chance to shake Jarmo's hand and thank him for helping to rebuild our team (I also met JD and told him I was excited about the Halak trade, to which he responded, "You should be!") - it was such a bittersweet moment, knowing it would be the last draft that Jarmo would help coordinate. He would be an excellent GM in this league, especially serving alongside JD.

Actually, Jarmo was already in Finland at the time of the EJ trade, but you're right about all of the other picks.
I try not to be one of those fans of other teams who comes "in peace" to express thoughts on another team's board, as it tends to come off as patronizing, so I hope you'll forgive me here. I went to a game at Nationwide two years ago, and I've since had a soft spot in my heart for this team - I had such a great time that night, the fans were so nice to me (even though I WAS wearing a Blues jersey), and that arena is still the best one I've ever been to. (I live in Los Angeles, and I was actually at the infamous "clock malfunction" game last year as well).
When JD became available, I was so happy to see him land in Columbus. Now if you get Jarmo, I'll be ecstatic for your fanbase. If you replace Todd Richards with Brad Shaw (Blues assistant) during the offseason, I may have to get a Blue Jackets jersey.
