Joe Buck calls part of a Blues/Kings game

About as terrible as I have imagined a Joe Buck hockey broadcast would be. Mike Emrick obviously has his quirks and his verbal crutches, but Joe Buck is just devoid of personality. I'm glad he's a Fox employee.

Your thoughts?

Not a fair judgement I feel since it was more of an interview and probably didn't get the chance to memorize players/jersey number. You can here the pauses of him referring to roster sheet.

Honestly wasn't that bad considering he was just kinda thrown into it. I bet if he was given a regular gig at it he'd be pretty solid.

Sounded good for someone who didn't have a day to prep and learn the players. I like Joe Buck, and think if Fox picked up NHL games he'd be a good choice to call the games. He'd show a lot more emotion if it was his everyday gig and he was prepped.

Yankee fan, talks like he has played the game i.e. baseball, makes mountains out of molehills and he's in general pretty annoying if you ask me. I can't stand watching the Sox on Fox.

That was actually pretty good all things considered. I too don't understand the hate for Joe Buck. Great voice. Great broadcaster in my book.

He did fine considering he was thrown into it. Usually he'd have a day to study line ups, stats, to be familiar.

People hate Joe Buck because they like being shouted at constantly. I don't get it, personally, but I guess some people can't see anything as exciting unless someone is yelling about it.

The difference between Buck and some homer doing his circus act is that Buck's a professional. Some people just hate professionals.

I thought Buck did a good job. I'd love to hear him call a game formally.

Why would he be a Yankees fan? I think it should be pretty obvious who his favorite team is.

Most people can't stand listening to their favorite team on a neutral network because they are so used to hearing their own homers, they think it must be biased.
