I absolutely love Lehtonen. Put him in my top 10.
BUT, he had a hot start last season too

Agreed and it's likely he comes back to earth. No goalie can't carry a team for the entire season, but that said, his 34-24-11 and 32-22-4 record as starter for the Stars over the previous two seasons is pretty good considering the defense we've fielded in front of him; this year isn't that great either. If the 2nd period implosion that has occurred since opening night against Phoenix doesn't stop, then it's quite likely we see similar numbers as his past two seasons.

Oh well.
If people think saying goalie X hasn't been playing as well as Luongo, then that's what it implies, then to you to.

Anderson might have a better statistical number but he doesnt make the insane saves that Kari does. A lot of that has to do with the quality of chance that Dallas gives up compared to an Ottawa team that has seemed to tighten up this year. I love Anderson and think he's the real deal but I'd swap him for Kari in a second.

It also has to do with Anderson's playing style. Luongo and Anderson both make difficult saves look very routine, probably has to do a lot with who both training with Allaire this off season.

Kari seems to be more acrobatic, I don't think that necessarily makes him any better.

Anderson is my choice for the Vezina right now, and he should get consideration for the Hart.

He's been everything for Ottawa, he cool calm and collected doesn't need to make miraculous save, he's always at the right place.

The Sens right now have the lowest GAA at 1.69, that's all Anderson, the only thing he does is stop pucks.

It's too obvious. That's what they want us to think [/bell commercial]

on the other hand, an American is the best goalie in the NHL right now and possibly the MVP of the league. Publicize this NHL, this can only work to your favour (sorry, i meant favor).

No. Lehtonen plays a very controlled and efficient style. He only uses his athleticism and "acrobatics" when absolutely necessary. The crazy saves he makes aren't him doing cartwheels or rolling around like tim thomas, they are controlled and well positioned pushes due to repeated failures on defense by the team in front of him.

Anderson hasn't been tasked with as many difficult scoring chances, it is simply fact. One has erik karlsson in front of him, the other's best defensemen is between trevor daley and brendan dillon.

Yes, it is simply fact that ottawa's defense, comprised of a norris winner who "cant play defense", two second pairing dmen, one third pairing dman, and three AHLers is much better than what Dallas offers lehtonen.

andersson leads lehtonen in sv% by a significant margin at this point of the season, and suggesting that either goalie's save chances are better or worse than the other's is simply uneducated.

I'll take you on that bet. It definitely is open war between Lehtonen and Rinne.

I would guess that Rinne takes it. I personally want Lehtonen to be the goalie in Sochi cause i feel like Lehtonen fairs better than Rinne with poor D.

If we would have a good defence i would want Rinne between the pipes, but as it looks we won't have a good defence. So Lehtonen should be the goalie.

But the coach's choice will be Rinne.

I'd say he is probably one of the most overrated on these boards.

There is no doubting his talent but every time the guy goes on a good run he gets praised like he's a top 5 goalie then at some point he either breaks down or his play drops.

He'll be a top 5 goalie when he can consistently preform like a top 5 goalie consistently, we all know that he has the talent to be one of the best in the league.

I love it when guys live up to their draft potential after seeming like busts. Warms my heart. Except when they are Leafs (damn you Kadri!)
