Ah. Our Regehr trade...

Well, I hope at least you guys enjoy Nystrom, or "Nyzerman" as we used to call him. Real good character guy, not that you guys need to be told that.

Or it means Nieuwy was so in love with Goligoski that he pulled the trigger right away.

Yep that's the problem. If he shopped him around, I bet we could have got someone better than Goligoski. Nieuwendyk pulled the trigger way too fast and I bet he knows that. I would wager that Pittsburgh said the offer was only on the table for a day and he panicked.

Any goalie is going to go down in that situation. There was a giant mass of humanity in front of him... there were 4 Flames right in front of the net and our forwards were nowhere to be found.

That's what they needed to do since the season started. But we'll miss the playoffs again and take a mid round pick like usual and that's the way it will be for awhile.

Sure but a bigger goalie would take up more space.

Well, here's another question: What 'ruined' Goligoski?

This is almost certainly what happened.

Neal wasn't "available". Nieuwendyk wasn't going to shop him around. Why would he?

He just wanted Goligoski, really badly. And he paid the price Shero asked. Shero probably said Neal for Goligoski straight up. And then Joe probably countered with Niskanen and Neal for Goligoski, since Niskanen had negative value at the time.

True. Calgary can probably score at least 8 more in that time.

Watch a Dallas stream, that bit about Chefy made me hungry as hell.

Send that video to all of the top UFA's. You'll have no problem bringing people in

Sticking his ass on the #1 D line when clearly he isn't a #1 D man like he was made out to be.

I wish wish wish I could be that way about anything Stars related.

The Minnesota '10 game shattered any optimism for like the next decade.

Flames fan here, few questions for my hockey pool...

Why are Benn and Eriksson on separate lines? Didn't they play together most of last year? And have they played at all together this season?

He was never the top dog, and when he left the Pens and Richards left the Stars he was supposed to become the top dog. He couldn't do it last year and it hurts his confidence.
