Bickell next contract

Unlike most, I'm not sold on him. Yeah he's been playing pretty good this year. I'd sooner trade him for a pick then resign him. For those who'd like to see him back, what do you think he's going to get $$ wise? What would be too much?

Similar deal to what Fro got, maybe a little cheaper because BB is such a team oriented guy.

Really? You think he's worth 2.3 a year? I'm with Bubba. Anything over 1.0 is over payment.

I agree. Contract year and then he decides to start playing. 1mm max.

Frolik is overpaid by about 1.2m. There's no way in hell Bickell is getting near that.

I'd give him around $1 million.

If he keeps showing up in the playoffs I can live with him floating through the season (even though this year he's playing well).

A good playoff run will push him to the $2M range.

If Bickell could be had for anything close to 1M, my only question is why the hell hasn't he been extended yet? I would be shocked to see him sign for that low, but then again, BB is a born Blackhawk and such a team guy, you never know, but that is below market value.

Going to guess he'll get more from somewhere else than we can give him here. Would be surprised to see him back. He'll either play really well and get a big raise or play bad and be replaced by a prospect like Hayes.

You wouldn't pay $2M per year for a legitimate power forward when it counts?

That seems like a terrible decision.

He's not worth $2 million. He's just not worth it. The fact that he doesn't score enough will hurt him if they re-up him.

I think he is well worth 2M, and if I have to make a decision between him and Frolik, it's easy, BB all the way. This team lacks size and secondary scoring as it is. BB provides both. Why make this team even smaller when it is already a problem. There aren't any prospects coming up like Bickell.

Well, obviously, but Frolik isn't worth what he's getting. Frolik is overpaid by around $1 million.

Well, the options are to keep Frolik or keep Bickell. If you guys think we can get him for 1M, great, but 2M should get it done if not. So why not resign him and trade Frolik.

I can see us parting with Frolik and keeping Bickell, but if the Hawks wouldn't go to over $2 on Brouwer, I am not sure they will go $2 million with Bickell.

Why exactly is he a team first guy? He signed a 3 year 1 way contract when he'd proven nothing.

Even at the time, that was regarded as a big time team friendly contract. I mean, 3 years? Imagine Saad signing a 3 year deal similar to that.

Bickell is in the same vein as Brouwer. Solid depth players that once they start to get expensive, you move on and use your prospect pool to fill their shoes. Rinse-Repeat. You don't sign Bickell going forward, you fill his spot with someone on an ELC.

He was a kid with nothing proven staring at 1.5 million dollars. It was a small risk worth taking, for both parties.
