Your "Realistic" Post-Trade Deadline Lineup

What do you think our lineup will look like once we get close to playoff time..

I don't think we will be that active in the trade market...Maybe ROR in Bozaks place ?
Even with Lupul coming back I don't think we mess up JVR Kessel and Put Lupes on a line with Kadri

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Frattin
Kule -Grabo - Komarov
Orr - McClement - Brown

Phaneuf - Holzer
Gardiner - Gunnar
Franson - Fraser

Reimer
Bulin
Scrivens

Bench - McLaren - Kostka - Steckel
Trade targets - Liles,MacArthur

Minors/Waivers - Stecks

I for one am not expecting any major moves by Nonis and the Gang.

Stecks down to the Marlies. He just doesn't fit anywhere.
MacA is going to be useful coming out of the pressbox if...dare I say...the Leafs make the playoffs...*gulp*

Liles for picks would be perfect. Failing that, Holzer or Gards would be the only candidates to be sent to the marlies.

Orr-McClement-Mclaren line is a solid grinding/forchecking line.

The forward lines look right enough. I don't think we'll see Gardiner again this year, personally.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Kadri - Frattin
Mac -Grabo - Kule
Komarov - McClement - Clutterbuck

Phaneuf - Franson
Gardiner - Gunnar
Fraser - Robidas

Backstrom
Scrivens

1- Liles (35% retained), Reimer, Holzer, and Steckel for Backstrom and Clutterbuck

creates some cap flexibility for Minny to make other moves
might need a pick or prospect but if the Leafs are going for the playoffs I'd like to see a move like this

2- D'Amigo and Mikus or pick for Stephane Robidas
he's a defensive right handed dman

the only problem is Carlyle doesn't like defensemen playing on their off-side. So Gunnar on the right side may pose a problem. If only Gunnar was right-handed then Kostka could sit

Although i love Gardiner as a player there is no denying that he has less to equal value in relation to a normal, not holding out O'Rielly so its a good way to take advantage of a poor situation. In addition to that McBain can be a suitable replacement and considering Carolinas abundance of D and need for a #3C who is strong on the dot the deal is likely to be there. Im considering the need for both teams, and a way to upgrade the line-up without losing valuable pieces without replacement.

Can't really see any big moves except roster changes. Would like JvR to switch to centre once Lupul comes back, Holzer + Kostka to go down, and Kadri to go to Bozaks wing.

Lupul-JvR-Kessel
Kadri-Bozak-Frattin
Komarov-Grabovski-Kulemin
Orr/McLaren-McClement-Brown

Macarthur trade for picks...

Phaneuf-Gunnar
Gardiner-Kostka/Liles
Fraser-Franson

I don't expect many (if any) changes to the lineup. Getting Lupul and even Frattin back from injury will be the same as making a deadline deal for skilled forwards.

I'll assume no trades:

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JvR-Kadri-Frattin
Mac-Grabovski-Kulemin
Orr/McLaren/Brown-McClement-Komarov

Phaneuf-Gunnar
Gardiner-Holzer
Franson-Fraser/Liles

Extra: Fraser/Liles

If they can trade someone like Mac, then Komarov moves up to take his spot with Grabo/Kulemin.

I'm not a huge fan of Liles, although I do think his skating abilities might be missed more dearly once we aren't flying high. I just don't know if Nonis trades a veteran like Liles half a season into his four year extension that includes a limited NTC.

JVR/Kessel/Grabo
Frattin/Kadri/Lupul
Mac/ROR/Kule
Brown/McClement/Komarov

Phanny/Blacker
Gardiner/Gunnar
Fraser/Kostka
Liles

I'm hoping Bozak/Franson/? get traded for ROR. Except for faceoffs I think Kessel can become that elite center we've all been hoping for. Grabo has never been much of a passer nor is he a player that can make his linemates better, he has the talent and contract to stay in the top 6.

I think it's important to have a defensively concious 3rd line that can contribute offensively. The Grabo line as a defensive line just doesn't do it for me. I would also like to move Kule but an overpaid 1 goal scorer is just not that marketable.

Muscle for muscle's sake just doesn't make my ideal realistic team but Orr and McLaren can be used as fill.

Any Leaf team that doesn't include Gardiner just doesn't make sense to me, are people already forgetting how good this guy could be, the minors is not the right place for him.

van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Grabovski -Kulemin (JVR/Lupul are interchangeable)
Komarov - Kadri - Frattin
McLaren - McClemment - Brown
X: Orr, Steckel

I personally think we'll need MacArthur down the stretch in case of injuries, but he'll prob be the first to go.

Phaneuf - Holzer
Liles - Kostka
Gunnarsson - Franson
X: Fraser, Komisarek

Only big move I see is Mac being traded mid-March when Lupul comes back, aside from that, only injuries will create any real changes to the roster before the draft. Can also see Connolly being moved for a 3rd with us eating half his remaining cap.

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Frattin
Komarov - Grabo - Kulemin
McLaren - McClement - Orr
Steckel/Brown

Phaneuf - Holzer
Gunnarson - Kostka
Fraser - Franson
Liles - Komisarek (there's going to be injuries and guys will be rotated as needed)

Reimer
Scrivens

I think Gardiner stays with the Marlies unless 2 of Dion/Gunnar/Liles go down, or the unlikely demotion of Kostka but I don't see that happening...

Anaheim is 10-2-1 and 2nd place in the West. They are not going to trade Perry or Getzlaf. Not going to happen.

Gone (in order of probability): Connolly, Liles, CMac and Steckel

In: Extra Picks/Prospects

Outside shot:

Kulemin: if he isn't going to reink after next year or wants a significant raise (which we can't afford to tie up much more in our wingers) his value will never be higher then this deadline.

Gunnarson: due for a significant raise and are future is stacked at left D with Phaneuf, Gardiner, Rielly and possibly Ranger (who could step right in and easily fill the void left by Gunnar)

Bozak : pending UFA that would bring back a good return

You haven't been paying attention. Kostka is here to stay. The fantasy of seeing Gardiner on a team other than the Toronto Marlies is rediculous.

You have to give up value to get value.

One of Lupul, Grabo, Gardiner, or Rielly will be moved.
