Is there some Blues-Avalanche rivalry that I'm not aware of? Like, anywhere in the history of the NHL?

Denver tonight, back here in Raleigh tomorrow? Such is life when you're the greatest commentator in hockey.

Thought about that. But despite the longevity and respect Doc has, give me John over Doc anyday.

If I listen to the Pens announcer call Malkin "Geno" one more time I'll punch a baby. If I hear him call Crosby "Sid" one more time the baby is getting set on fire. The Pens duo is the only one that I truly cannot stand.

Also, the Flames have Stickpuck Sumo during the halftime. Carolina needs to import this now.

I honestly don't mind Jack Edwards when he's calls a fair game. It's just when he becomes a massive homer, he becomes atrocious. Unfortunately, he's a homer way too often in his broadcasts so my first sentence becomes irrelevant.

As blasphemous as this may sound coming from someone who dislikes the Boston Bruins, I have to say that I actually like Jack Edwards. I feel like he calls a good game overall and is one of the more exciting broadcasters to listen to in all of hockey. While I understand that some have a distaste for his shtick, I find it pretty funny for the most part and I don’t think it’s too over the top (see Rick Jeanneret (Sabres) and Dave Mishkin (Lightning [Radio]) for over the top PBP). His homerism doesn’t bother me. Let’s not forget that he’s a local broadcaster and not a national one.

In my biased opinion, Forslund is the best PBP announcer in the league. Hughson* (CBC), Bowen (Leafs), Peckham (Lightning), Emrick (NBC), Goldstein (Panthers), Weber (Predators), Strangis (Stars) and Miller (TSN) all also have a place in my Top 10, if I had to rank them.

* Only when the Canucks aren’t involved in the game he’s calling on any particular night.

Beninati rewls. His color guy is AWFUL but his goal calls are by far the best in the league and so is his general voice.

Forslund is my favorite pbp man. Then I like Randy Hahn the Sharks guy. Foley in Chicago and Vancouver's guy.

I actually like Jack Edwards and I don't even mind that he's a homer.. its when he goes so over the top he forgets the facts.. He'll be excited for every goal call but if somebody kicks the bruins ass in a fight, he gets really quiet.

I have a strong dislike for Emrick... I think its his voice..

Craig Laughlin of the Caps crew is the one person I hate to hear more than any other. As dumb as Tripp, and as annoying as nails on a chalkboard!

This injury free-for-all is getting ridiculous. Anderson goes down last night for the Sens. There was a collective "oh for ****'s sakes" in the arena. We all know he's the guy that'll make or break the playoffs...

Very surprised it was only a sprained ankle...cause it looked like a torn knee.

From looking at the play I was surprised that it was his right ankle that was injured on that play when his left leg gets all sort of twisted and caught under the sliding guy(can't remember who it was)
