Okay, as long as it was a support position. I just don't want to get called for a bunch of stupid jobs nobody wants (sales, telecommunication, etc).

Since these people apparently specialize in staffing government-based positions, I think I should be able to avoid that sort of crap.

A recruiter got me my current position, which was funny because they called me to see if I knew anyone who might be a good fit, when the job was basically exactly what I had told them I was looking for.

Today is my five year anniversary with my company. I'm proud to say that I have had a very good experience with my company, I love what I do and I feel respected and appreciated here.

Hell to the yeah!

The good:

Got an email requesting to setup an interview for a position called "Director of Social Media"

The bad:

I am now obligated to make a LinkedIn profile in order to apply internally

The title sounds fancy, but apparently it's a smaller organization so I will be the Director of....myself.

Yesterday, I applied on a whim for a job as a creative writer for an online gaming company. Today I had an email saying that they are adding me to their list of promising candidates and want me to prepare for a test on Thursday. Even if it goes no further, that is a nice little confidence boost. About GD time.

I used to write gaming articles back in the day. One the sites I worked for still has a bunch of my stuff up.

Very cool. This job I applied for would actually be more like writing the stories for their games.

I've played their stuff for awhile. One of the four games I lost interest in, but the other 3 are pretty solid. I should have been paying more attention to the stories, though.

I am always amazed at how much profit used car dealers try to squeeze out of each vehicle. I'm shopping cars.com for used RWD coupes near Richmond and most of them carry selling prices $3,000-$5,000 higher than the suggested dealer selling price on Edmunds.com. Holy hell, and Edmunds is actually lower than KBB.

I had thought about something relating to ring fingers, but thought better of it.
