Irving has just not demonstrated NHL-level positional play in his 12 games so far in his career, it's a little frustrating.

Disagree it really hasn't been an issue most of the time.

Irving needs to forget about the goals he's let in and just focus on the next shot. I feel like he is too worried about letting in goals and not just focusing on what he needs to do.

Flames Therapist is gonna be busy after this game.

Both goalies are getting plenty of exercise. All this cross crease passes is making me dizzy.

His initial position is OK, though not stellar; it's his second save that needs work.

Such as, his lateral across is almost TOO strong and he overshoots. Or his rebound control, like not grabbing the puck quick enough and being in a prone position.

Granted, it's not like this game is giving him enough of a chance to settle down with this madness.

Its not the positioning really, it just feels like Irving isn't a big time goalie. His puckhandling is also really bad as is rebound control below average.

I think Irving at most from these games is a solid backup maybe a starter, but not elite or upper tier.

Disagree entirely. It doesn't look like you're expectations are realistic.

His puck-handling is awful and he should definitely cut down on trying to do so, but then again, a lot of goalies struggle with this.

To me that all come with experience. He can't learn if he doesn't play. I'm sure Hartley and the coaches will be showing him plenty of tapes after tonight

Irving has been fine, let's not forget that stellar save that allowed us to get a 2-0 lead, 2 goals weren't on him, that third was tricky as well. He has looked excited, and I don't blame him, but he needs to settle down and get this team a win. That's all. Just get the win.

Bad luck for him. Looks like Horak will be called up soon, unless Baertschi's good to go.

Not **** who expected that. Also most of his problems can be fixed with starts and playing time you don't learn much on the bench or in press box.
