This describes HF mentality so well:

You've got hundreds of channels to watch on TV, the Internet, you name it and it's like if you're not going to get it here and now, then I'm going to go somewhere else and get it now.

Good on him. The patient, measured approach is the kind of thinking that will be more beneficial to the club as a whole, I think.

Good on him. Looks like the only thing keeping Mark out right now is his strength, hopefully he has a good summer in the gym.

Luckily this franchise now has a new regime that won't ruin players by rushing them into the league before they are ready. I personally wanted Scheifele to stay in Winnipeg this season but he will definitely benefit from any additional physical strength garnered between the current season and the one soon coming. Keeping him in junior was the correct call.

Scheifele is poised to make a deep playoff run. The experience he'll gain this year will be priceless.

Scheifele had nothing to gain by going back to junior, the Jets sending him back was done merely for financial reasons, can anyone say he was given a fair shot, 4 games with 3 of those on the 4th line playing 10 minutes, his last game saw him moved up a couple lines where he looked good.

If he had earned it he'd have been on the second or third line. He's not entitled to be there just because he's a first round pick. The fact we roll forward a year on his ELC doesn't hurt either though.

I really like our organization. Chevy is patient and won't make trades that aren't beneficial to the team in the long run for a quick fix.

When I see the passion Chipman clearly has for winning it makes me not worried at all that the Jets are merely a business venture. I'm sure that factors in, but I don't think profit will be the be all end all for this organization. Having the richest owner in pro sports helps to.

This organization seems to classy, from top to bottom. Jokinen's comments really solidify that for me. I couldn't be happier with our front office and the way they seem like they are planning on building this team.

Next year he can come in and tell the boys what playing in the playoffs is like and give some tips.

Hawerchuk brainwashed Chevy. That's the only explanation.

I'm not saying he deserved to be on the 1st or 2nd line, all I'm saying is that he wasn't exactly given a fair shake this time around, pretty tough to show your skills playing with Thorburn.

First you said it was for financial reasons, then you say he didn`t get a fair shake.Which is it?

Not getting a chance to show his skills by playing on the 4th line with Thorburn I can agree with.

Thinking that the Jets cared at all about any financial reasons for where Scheifele played I don't believe. They put him where they think it's best for him and the team long term.
Also, if it was financial reasons, wouldn't they have acted like the Islanders and got Scheifele's higher cap hit and lower actual cost into the lineup to save money?

Although Scheifele was specifically mentioned in the article, the point to take away from it is that no matter who you are, you are not going to be rushed to the NHL because of draft position nor age. You will get your chance when you show you are ready.

According to Chevy, the part of his game was the physical side.

The thing we want to make sure we don't make a mistake on is strength. You can't push a kid to grow. You can't push him; those things just happen on their own.

And anyone watching the games he played could see he was getting pushed off the puck a little to easily. It didn't matter who Scheifele played with, the physical aspect wasn't there yet.

He didn't get a fair shake because the Jets didn't want to lose a year of his contract.

Also I think no training camp really put a hamper on any talent speculation.

Do you not buy Chevy's explanation that he wasn't as physically ready as they would have like?
Seems like a more than adequate explanation to me.
