A Hunwick Barrie pairing would be phenomenal defensively.

For the tank.

Eh, that was a bad time. Wolski/Hensick/ ARNASON says enough.

Five minutes a game an no PK or PP time is a pleasant surprise to you? Were you expecting two minutes a game?

In his limited role, he's provided some nice hits, some nice fights to (attempt) to get his team energized.

He's even shown some decent hands for someone in his role, and he's overall not been terrible.

I literally don't know what anyone would be looking for in that situation...I think he's better than Koci, and we played his ass for a while.

He's provided little to no impact in all the games he's played. He's a dime a dozen fourth line scrub.

That's fine, I'm not saying that he's a "breakout" player or anything. Just that given our history of putting players into the role that he's playing has proven to be a bad decision for the Avs. Players like Koci weren't really that good at any aspect of playing hockey, even the fighting side.

Bordeleau at least some SOME skills (relative to Koci that is) and isn't a bad fighter.

It's fine if you disagree with my assessment, but you can't act like he's been playing abhorrently, because that's just not the case.

While I agree that he has not been a detriment to the team, I do agree he primarily serves as an enforcer role. Would be nice to park him in front of the net tonight IF we get a PP just to see what he can do.

I don't see how a guy could possibly be "abhorrent" if he's only playing a grand total of five minutes a night. Basically what you're saying is that he is managing not to make a major gaffe for the few seconds per shift he's out there...that's not really a great assessment.

It was when I officially threw in the towel on that season. Sounds like tonight could be Round 2.

Tonight’s lines:
McGinn-Duchene-Parenteau
Palushaj-Stastny-Jones
McLeod-Mitchell-Hejduk
Bordeleau-Olver-Kobasew
Scratched: Sgarbossa

D (pairings TBD)
O’Byrne, Zanon
O’Brien, Hejda
Hunwick, Barrie
http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2013...-injury/12577/

Ugh, just look at that D unit. I'm sure those won't be the pairings, but that is just god awful to look at.

Yet players like Worrell, Koci, etc. when given the same role, managed to be nothing short of awful.

I mean come on guys, it's not like I said that Bordeleau should be playing on the Top 2 lines, I said that in his 4th line role, he's been a nice surprise. He's played well in the role he's given

Agreed, it's sad that we've come down to praising our enforcers for playing up to their potential though.

Can we play Bordeleau on the first line please?
Just for the hell of it
It will happen anyways with our injuries sooner or later.
I just want to see the face of Suter and Co if they get matched up against Bordeleau . I miss Koci.
McLeod Koci Bordeleau could have been our top line.
I am sure they would have done a heck of a job for our tank and they would have been hilarious to watch.

We're a call up away from a line of McCleod-Malone-Bordeleau though, which would be fun to throw out Gloves already off against Yak-Gagner-Hemsky.

all you have to know about Bordeleau you can tell from his shift last game where he fought Bissonnette. His line had gotten the puck deep in the offensive zone and managed to draw both D behind the goal line. The forecheckers manage to send a pass straight up into the goal mouth where nobody is covering the slot, where an open winger could have had one of the best possible scoring chances in the game of hockey.

Instead, Bordeleau was in the neutral zone starting a fight with another goon.
