His knees will eventually need more work done again

The only thing we don't know is how long it will take

The fact that our best winger is often not playing come crunch time is more than enough for me to want management to look into replacing him

If he walks it's at the end of next year, a lot of things can change by then

Which surgury, this most recent one or the one he has after re-injuring himself next season?

Can you ask your crystal ball how many goals he scores next year?

This knee surgery sounded more like knee debris than anything to do with tendons... a little bit of bone miss healing or spurring perhaps?

Bone spurs can hurt like hell especially if they get under things like tendons ... ouch.

I think we just let him walk after next season; hopefully the prospects pan out so that Murray doesn't feel like he has to keep him
I'd think we can at the very least get a lesser but healthier player. Someone like Glencross for example.

Internally. Gives the chance to one of the young guns to replace him and get more ice-time

Phew. Looking forward to it. The Sens were much better for the few games he was back before he had the scope. Many more options for Stache now, and much better balance for the lines.

Sens won last night, but it was similar to the last few games before that. Michalek will tip the balance more to the Sens favour.

I assume Kassian sits to make room at LW.

Where does Latendresse shift to if Milo is the top line LW ?

Do they go back to:

Latendresse - Zibby - Silvf ?

In which case I think Conacher slides down ?

I can't think that they would bench Latendresse in favor of Kassian.

Michalek-Turris-Alfredsson (great 2-way line?)
Latendresse-Zibanejad-Silfverberg (chemistry?)
Greening-Pageau-Conacher (speed?)
Condra-Smith-Neil (everything?)

+1 You could roll all four lines pretty much at all times.

I don't want to break up the Calder line. I think they are building some great chemistry together which I want to see carried into next year.

Truth be told, with Michalek back and acquiring Conacher, I don't see Latendresse here past this season.

Especially with Hoffman in the fold as well. Lats doesn't fit as a third or fourth line guy.

Latendresse's days may be numbered. I just don't see much of a fit for him right now. Shows some flashes of skill, but really lacks speed. Likely the way he cherry picks and just wants to go to the net, he is more likely suited to play with Spezza who wants to carry the puck.

Lats - Spezza - Michalek probably isn't too bad of a line. Though Greening fits in there too and is cheaper.

If I *had* to choose between Latendresse and Michalek I'd take Latendresse

The guy is incredible at holding on to the puck

this is an odd statement. i agree with the rest of the post but i see lats controlling the puck a lot. he's actually pretty good at keep away and there were numerous instances where he controlled the puck and setup other players. he seems to like to do that from behind the net.

Wow, I guess people have forgotten how big and increidibly strong Michalek is on the puck when healthy, which by all accounts he is now.

Pats lineup is a beauty! I'd go with the same.

As for Michalek returning tonight, always a bit scared every time he takes contact. Like always I'll be like "Omg, get up, skate a bit. Okay, he's alright" That's just how Michalek is
