Sens fans are emotional. Can't blame us. Our season is over. Probably not looking at this incident in the most logical way. I don't believe it was intentional but who cares? Doesn't change the outcome.

It looks like he tried to knee him in the hamstring and the tendon thing was "accidental".

Do you want to hook him up to a polygraph or something?

Might just be a conspiracy cooked up by Cooke + manufacturers of cut resistant socks.

LOL, Sens are no longer competitive.

Case closed.

Can we please now focus on next season?

If I hear someone screaming, it is natural for me to at least take a glance at them to see what the heck is going on. What does cooke do? Skates away like nothing happened. Complete moron.
yeah, why didn't cooke perform cpr on him? the fact that he didn't immediately drop to the ice and cradle karlsson's head and give him a kiss to make it all better just shows how guilty he is.

But in my opinion, there's 75% of chance that it was intentional. 25% that it was a freak accident (or a careless play by Cooke).

Given his history, the burden is on Cooke. If Cooke cannot prove without a doubt that it was an accident, then he should get sanctionned. Severely.
Yeah, this makes zero sense. I don't know how any human can really throw out percentages in this situation.

That's where I would disagree. Not intentional, but not the smartest play.

Even as a Pens fan, I'd always felt this way about Cooke. For years he couldn't help himself. I always told my wife he's actually a sociopath.

The last couple years he's changed. It was under the threat of his very lucrative career and probably a large dose of counseling but he has changed.

Looked unintentional but I wouldn't put it past Cooke to make it look that way. Either way it was a reckless and unfortunate play. No one goes in for a pin with a leg high.

Hoping Karlsson a speedy recovery.

I hate Matt Cooke, but from an unbiased perspective, I cannot see what he did wrong on the play. Him and Karlsson were jostling for position as they went into the boards for the puck.

It's a freak accident that unfortunately resulted in an injury. Hope Karlsson is okay. I think Sens fans are just being overemotional due to Cooke's reputation. In this case, they're wrong. There's no stomp, there's no premeditation, there's no dirty play to be seen there.

I just hope he makes a full recovery. His skating is a huge part of Karlsson's game. If that gets diminished, he won't be half as good as he currently is because his unconventional style won't be effective anymore. That's the part that worries me more, since the season is already toast anyway.
This. This. This. This.

People keep bringing up how the Sens' season is done, but we don't give two ***** about the season. And I don't give a **** about Cooke either. He's the least of my concerns.

This isn't like Bieksa or Salo recovering from the same injury, this is Karlsson who is arguably the best and most agile skater in the league. This is absolutely career shattering. I honestly have a hard time believing he'll return 100%.

Thank you for being sensible.

Sorry you lost such a great player, hopefully he makes a quick recovery. Forgot to mention this while I was trying to talk some sense into fans who though Cooke was out to kill EK

It looks like Cooke was going for a DDT but it got reversed and he stabbed him on purpose with the skate he had sharpened a bit more on purpose before the game.

Seriously, this wasn't intentional.

It's called a freak accident for a reason, because it doesn't happen on every play. Cooke was going into a battle with Karlsson, lost his footing and it got caught up in Karlsson's skate. How anyone can say this was intentional blows my mind.

How many incidents have happened with Datsyuk, and how many games has Datsyuk been suspended for dangerous and injurious plays? Now how many incidents has Cooke had and subsequently been suspended for?

Gee, I wonder why Datsyuk(or practically anyone else) would be given more of the benefit of the doubt in this kind of situation

People can cry all they want, it won't change anything, it wasn't intentional, and **** like this happens. It sucks but it happens. It happened to the Penguins for two years, and one of them it was Crosby AND Malkin.

Sens weren't going to win the cup, and now they have a shot at a top five pick. This injury only helped the Sens if you ask me.
Hilarious.

Only on HFBoards, accumulating a top 5 pick is more better than making the playoffs.

Don't be silly now. CPR for a skate cut? Did you go to the Dr. Recchi school of medicine?

love the hypocrisy from pens fans...Subban is a dirty POS from cutting Staal. And now look at them defend Cooke.

Clearly both incidents were completely accidental imo.

I think he was trying to do something dirty/hurt him when he knew it was Karlsson. I doubt he planned to step on his achilles, but he was looking to do damage.

Penguins fan here.

Accidental, though I understand why people are losing their **** over this.

To be honest, I'm pretty upset too. I'd hate for Karlsson's career to be negatively affected. I think any real hockey fan would be.
