Canes are playing well. I think this one will be a loss.

Prove me wrong, please.

Picked up the nude model Tlusty on my fantasy team, he's been ripping it up with E. Staal and Semin. Watched them the other night, he's a gamer on that top line. Glad to see a Leafs alum stick.

I'll be impressed if we can come out of this with 2 points. Hoping for at least a loser point.

Good GDT.

This will be a real test but I think we may be able to win, if all the guys play Carlyle's system.

Go Leafs Go!

If we see that on a consistent basis, then I'll be a happy little ducky.

We're 5-15-0-1? I wonder why they have our number so? It has to be more than the whole "we suck against sucky teams" thing.
Wouldn't the fact that we would have 9 wins to their 8 put us ahead of them?

Yeah, I think the Leafs will have the division for a day if we win tonight, but the Bruins have 3 games on hand to get 1 point and take it right back.

Even with win, we merely tie Boston in points. And since second tie-breaker is PPG, we don't even get that.

Oh...I thought it was ROW wins.

Nvm then..we're not even going to get a chance to rent the division lead for a day

My interest continues to dwindle in Gary Bettman's 30 team scrub laden NHL. There are more bad ass hockey teams in the NHL than ever before. Star players are at a premium and few and far between. Teams can't improve because the talent coming up through the draft is sparse. After the top 5 picks there's always a big dropoff in top end talent. It costs a ton of money to put kids through years of playing hockey with less than a 1% chance the kid will ever make the NHL. We are seeing the ramifications of the high cost of hockey on families and as a result a weak talent pool year after year that feeds the NHL. The on ice product sucks Mr Bettman. Get rid of the count and contract to 20 teams get rid of all these money losing bad market teams and scrub players. I wouldn't pay a dime to see this crappy 30 team product. The NHL is over loaded with 3rd and 4th line plugs..i'm not entertained! A report out yesterday said something like 37% of people now expect to spend less on the NHL brand. Gee no kidding i wonder why. They don't even give a rats ass about hockey in the U.S. they think it's a goon sport like the WWE the Americans just don't care for the NHL product.

If the Leafs can't make the playoffs in this god awful NHL in this shortened season it would be beyond laughable. Ottawa has lost Spezza and now Karlsson Sens should be falling back in the standings Philly is a joke Holmgren has ruined that team Buffalo has an AHL level scoring attack the Habs are a disgrace and the Caps are an AHL team with a disinterested and under performing Ovechkin. Then of course there are the usual bottom feeders like the Islanders Florida Winnipeg/Atlanta. If the Leafs can't make the playoffs this year...

Ellis has looked pretty good so far, hopefully the Leafs can change that.

Really want Kessel to bury a couple tonight.

There are too many teams and not enough talent. I think there is the same problem in the NBA.

If having Pitkanen out and Sanguinetti in the lineup isn't bad enough for Carolina:

Quote:
Interesting scenario developing, as the #Canes currently have five defensemen. Will see after the skate if Gleason's good to go.
Quote:
For the time being, Faulk is with Harrison, McBain with Corvo, Sanguinetti with [insert player here].
Poor Ellis, finally get's a start and has to deal with that defense.
