Basically the reason the Devils included info about a special event is because if they get asked to play internationally according to the CBA they must accept the invitation. After participating if they get invited again they can turn down the application.
Freaking wonderful, we'll only have to pay for 43 games next year, and get one credited
Maybe they'll do their pre-season over there, too, and save you from having to pay for pre-season games (I know the teams play a couple of exhibition games against Euro teams ... just don't remember if they play some here first)
I wouldn't be surprised if we're asked to participate in one of the outdoor games. I feel like they owe us something since the draft is only going to be 1 day instead of 2.
I only saw a $2 increase to my grandfathered price in 226.. Sorry to hear that the rest of the uppers went up by $5 but I honestly need that disparity to have any chance at competing with you guys in the middle and attack side

At least that's what I'm hoping for.
I think there's a little more to it then just the days of the draft, but I think this is a reasonable outlook to have.

I think Cowbell was mentioning before that your seats make actually be slightly cheaper since it's in the defend twice side. Could be wrong, but thought that's what he said.

Cheaper than my seats, yes. But year-to-year there's probably an increase. I don't have the hard numbers or sheet in front of me, but what I remember:
Center will see the highest increase too, then attack twice corners, followed by defend-twice corners.
I think the Devils saw the playoff numbers and early season post-lockout numbers and decided to run with it. But I don't think they're counting on what's going to happen when Marty retires and/or this team is not very good for a long time. We're going to have a drastic, sudden change in our fan base.
That being said, I think a lot of the restructuring of ticket prices and levels makes sense as an end game, but at the increases and what not? Yeah... not the best idea or timing.
Ah so they finally came to their senses on the upper level pricing structure? I mean its so obvious that fans value the areas up their differently. I wonder if the changes are just on STH pricing or if they will be made to face value pricing as well

There's a good chance Devils will host a game at Yankee Stadium next year. Not the Winter Classic, but one of the add-on outdoor games, since the NHL wants a mini, outdoor series of games.

0% chance we host a game at Yankee stadium...
kind of the Rangers' turf.. ya know.
I can see Metlife being a home game for us but no shot the New Jersey Devils are playing a home game in New York City. I know, the Giants and Jets do the opposite but that's pretty different.

You may be right....but that's the rumblings I'm hearing. Rangers already played in a Classic. And they may want to be clear of MetLife due to any NFL involvement, especially if they want to do a weekend game for the non-Classic outdoor games.

Almost every team that has played in a Classic has already played in two.
Not to mention, the trend has been "participate in a WC away, get one at home a few years later"
What about Rutgers Stadium? High point solutions stadium now. It's NJ, Rutgers athletics could use the money with the move to the B10. Good sight lines for a hockey game.
just spit balling. I think they would use Yankee Stadium for a Rags-Isles game IMO
would that matter if it wasn't the Winter Classic?
Citizens bank park and Ralph Wilson weren't that exciting either, but I see your point. IDK im saying the chances of us getting put in Metlife are none. I could see RBA.

I don't know, I just don't see one ever being at Rutgers and MetLife would be tricky with possible playoffs and the Super Bowl and whatnot next year but maybe in a couple years. I've actually brought up RBA to the people that work there and they had no desire to do it.

Even aside from that, I just can't imagine the NHL wants to have one of their outdoor games in a venue where they're really only looking at 25,000 for attendance. I think they would rather the Devils "host" a game outside of NJ for 40,000+ than keep it in NJ for that small of attendance.

Absolutely, plus RBA would really only be about 23k for hockey as the first few rows would have no view.
FYI - this came from NJDevs on 200-level STH pricing:
For 200 level, the 4 corners are $18, upper level ends (226, 227, 214, 215) are $28, center (229 & 212) are $35, and the rest upper level sides are $32

That seems a few bucks too much to me, since the view is essentially the same as the $18 seats.
