Compare rookies to rookies and veterans to veterans.
Some of those veterans are playing like rookies.

Bennett just doesn't belong on the Geno line. I'd rather he take Duper's place and put Duper with Geno and Neal.
I would agree with this entirely. Within the organization Dupuis is the most similar to Kunitz. Itís still kind of confusing as to how this hasnít even been tried by accident. Bennett with Crosby and Kuntiz and Dupuis with Malkin and Neal.

Bylsma was actually going to just send BB down, but then saw everyone freaking out, so he had to panic-waive Boychuk to get him back up ASAP.

We call the shots on this team.

Can we just enjoy this news for 48 hours (and hopefully at least 3 periods on Thursday)?

Kunitz - Sid - Dupers
Bennett - Geno - Neal
Jeffrey - Sutter - Cooke
Glass - Vitale - Adams
Kennedy

Bask in it... the glorious moment we've been waiting for, with no scrubs on our top two lines.

I think the most impressive thing with Bennett so far has been his physical play. He was winning a lot of individual battles and causing some turnovers against Montreal.

I guess I don't really care where Bennett or Dupuis is. Where ever they are it's a little give and take. Dupuis gives you some jam, forechecking ability and defensive awareness in the top-6.. Bennett doesn't bring much of that, but he adds skill.

I prefer having all 4 lines having some jam but if 2 skilled lines and 2 crash-and-bang lines works, that's fine too.

He will be sent down before the deadline. He does show glimpses of being a special player but he just doesn't seem eady to play in the top 6. He panics when he gets possession of the puck. But again he is only playing on that line because the pens have exhausted all other options. If he was playing great fine and made it difficult for disco to demote him, fine. But he's only playing because Shero had a disastrous offseason.

Disastrous offseason by trading Staal (not Shero's fault), giving away Michalek, not replacing Sullivan, actually thinking Tangradi could play in the top 6, drafting a defenseman with the 8th overall pick and waiving Strait. (Not in the offseason, but close enough)

How was this offseason not a disaster? I know her pursued Parise. But he failed to sign him. Shero should have realized Parise wasn't going to sign with the pens and move on. Plan B: Shane Doan. Shero was passed over twice. I'm glad he tried to sign these guys, but damn.

I like Doan as well but I wouldn't give him 5 mil a year for 20 goals.

If Bennett is with Geno and Neal, I think Neal needs to play a lot more like he did with Sutter as his center. Basically, he needs to play more like Kunitz and really throw the body and play the puck retriever role for that line. He'll still get plenty of chances, and he can still be a pure sniper on the powerplay.

Nope. Bennett has done nothing to warrant a top 6 role thus far.

THAT SAIDDDDDDD you can't tell me there are people on the team right now who are earning the minutes they are getting while people who are sitting in the press box haven't earned ice time.
Like who?

Why do you insist on perpetuating the "giving away Michalek" myth?

We're an impatient lot and stand to lose nothing if a prospect is ruined. Disco stands to lose his job. I would say though than Tangradi is proving him right.
Tangradi being crap was obvious to everyone except this board for some reason.

Not really, everyone here was pretty much agreed, some wre saying he needed a longer chance. All he really needed to do was creat space from malkin and neal. Even a point wasnt necessary. Look at saad he has less than 6 points playing with kanes and toews but hes a hard worker, gets to the dirty areas, works along the boards, thats really all we needed but it didnt work out i guess..

You mean aside from work hard in the offseason to add strength/speed, excel in the early part of his pro career (top 10 in rookie scoring when called up), and not look out of place playing 10 minutes a night in a top 9 role? His physicality has been a total surprise - he is more willing to paste guys than almost any other Pen. He's had the puck roll off his stick a few times but those nerves will be gone soon enough.
