Canucks Welcome Aaron Rome Back to Vancouver

Quote:
Stars defenseman Aaron Rome played the three seasons in Vancouver, and it appears no one knew just how great the Rome era in Vancouver was.

“What I didn’t’ know about Romer when I walked in here was he was the MVP and top scorer,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “When I saw him this morning I said he better be in the PP meeting. We mis-scouted him.”

Rome’s named was taped over every 2011-12 Canucks award listed along a corridor at Rogers Arena on Friday. He was the Canucks MVP as voted by fans , he was the Canucks most exciting player as voted by fans, he received most game star selections, he was the team’s top defenseman, the team’s unsung hero and more.

Carter put up like 30 goals with the Sedins that year and it was very fun to watch. The rest of the team was nothing to write home about.

Weird to not see a Sedin on there, but then again they probably split votes.

This thread scared me to no end. When I read the title, I thought the Nucks had gotten Aaron Rome back in a trade. AV would automatically put Rome as our number 1 d-man no doubt if that were true.

Going to guess that Bieksa was the one behind that prank.

Rome is such a plug.

That ovation should tell you everything about highly loved they are here.

And Burrows is pretty exciting to watch. Deserved to win three years in a row.

In what world is a clutch, folk-hero, shorthanded-monster exciting?

(just trying to break the perception here that he's a plug who got lucky vs. Chicago/Boston)

(...though i suppose he did get lucky vs. Chicago.)
