Good:
- CoHo with some ELITE shifts. He almost single handily tied the game. I think he would have with more time. Those last few shifts were the best I've ever seen from him.
Hodgson! God was that second goal of his sick.
Nice to see Brennan finally find the net.
Grigs has looked better and better ever since Rolston took the helm.
Bad:
Pretty much everyone else.
Ugly:
Jeff "Seymour" Skinner
Hodgson wasn't named one of the three stars, yet Peters, he of 3 goals against, was named the second star. Damn homer reporters.
Tonight's game showed me what Hodgson could do in junior and what I despaired of ever seeing in the bigs. If he does this more regularly I might have to admit he is a first line centre!
Grigs - Noticeable. Made a number of positive plays.
Brennan - The shot we have heard so much about
Myers - Lone rush. Should do this EVERYTIME he gets the puck.
Passing - FINALLY...from mid Second on
Bad:
Coaching - Enroth should have started
Miller
24
Staff - Whiffing to the bank
Hecht - Absolutely hates Grigs
You could tell it was going to be a terrible night for Miller by watching him in the first period. There were 2 or 3 shots that were no close to going in that Ryan couldn't keep track of. It was like watching someone throw tennis balls towards an 85 year old (one of my favorite hobbies obviously).
I'll be honest though I haven't completely subscribed to the lovefest Miller has been getting much of the season. Yes the defense in front of him has been comical at times, yes many of the forwards spend half the game cherry picking and running around in the neutral zone, and yes GAA is one of the worst stats in Hockey. But the guy has shown a complete inability to lock down games in his entire career.
Hey man, in my eyes tonight was a win baby, one step closer to Mackinnon, Cody scores a great goal, multiple teams below us win their games. Can't ask for much more!!!
Hodgson is going to be unbelievably good if he can just become even a semi-decent defensive player. He's incredible offensively.
He's a second year player putting up almost a PPG. He's going to be bad defensively until he gets more experience.
Put it this way, if he was semi decent defensively right now and still producing like he is he would be one of the top 5 players in the league right now... in his second year.
