Status on Savard, Pronger, K.Sauer, M.Sauer?

Will anyone of them return? Am I missing someone?

How could pronger get such a severe concussion from a stick in his eyes?

How's Savards daily life? He did return from the Cooke hit, but he got injured again? What exactly happend here?

The Sauers' (are they brothers) what's up with them?

Thanks

Savard was hit by Hunwick and is out since then but it was nothing dirty. He will probably never fully recover from the Cooke elbow. He will never play again but as far as I know isn't officially retired simply because that way he still gets his paycheck.

Whats that thing right behind your eye? The thinky box I believe its called?

Anyway, he was at the training camp doing his medical evals and showing D techniques to Luke Schenn (in an office). But no, he won't play again. He, as far as know, still has symptoms and as far as I know can't attend a game because of the headaches. Unless thats changed recently.

Concussions happen when the brain collides with the skull and causes bleeding. It's quite literally bruising your brain. It's not where you get hit, it's how much force. Also, Pronger could have gotten it not from the injury to his eye, but the fall to the ice.

Ohlund isn't concussed, but he's most likely done as well (as in 99% chance of being done).

Savard has been able to be happy and coach his son's hockey team. His headaches are decreasing, it used to be really bad.

He wants to return, but he's getting up there and the fact that he got knocked out by that hit by Hunwick proved it was a mistake to bring him back anyway. He was done after Cooke.

If he wanted a job in the office with the Bruins, he'd get it. He can't retire due to insurance. Maybe he can cut off his hands and give them to Seguin. We'd have the best PP in the league.

Funny how the Bruins went from a terrifying PP to one that's terrifying to us from one player.

Neurologist here, the correct term is the "brain".

Second parts right, first part not really. Youre thinking of a contusion. A concussion doesnt result in any visible immediate damage to the brain tissue, the damage is mostly microscopic. There is no bleed.

I can't remember if it was late last season or early this season, but they showed Pronger at a Flyers game during the first period, but he had to leave by the second period because of the noise and everything.

Pronger will be bought out at the end of the year, he will move back to his home in STL so his wife can be with her family. He will then sign a one year league minimum contract to play for the Blues, will win the Norris trophy and help the Blues when their first Stanley Cup and then he will retire as a blue...

...and then I will wake up and realize it was all a dream...

That was last season I believe. Gah, every time Pronger's name comes up it makes me sad, what this Flyers team could have been.. At least he's working with players like Luke, between him and Timonen couldn't think of better mentors.

Actually in the case of Pronger, I think that it was the combination of 3 big hits he sustained (the last one by someone who is also 6'6" in Martin Hanzal) that caused the problems he is having now. His career is all but over; has he moved back to the St. Louis area yet?

I didn't include it in the quote, but I would imagine that Kurt Sauer (whose contract has run out) is now retired; there is no news on the Mike Sauer front.

Pronger is done but he is still working with the young dmen occasionally as other posters have stated. Pronger has had a history of concussions and is 99.9% done. .1 (being an act of god) Like Lindros his brain has simply taken to much damage at this point.

That was last season, they have showed him in the box a few times this season as well but I don't think he has ever had to leave.

I believe he is doing better but he's never going to play again. Its a damn shame but I am glad he is not going to try and come back.
