We had a Jack Adams winner, doesn't mean it's the answer.

Anselmi on Burke: 'We will terminate his consulting contract with MLSE so that he can pursue this role with Anaheim'

Odd because on TSN the other night they said he wanted a job in scouting(which he got), but wants one where being a GM is also in the cards in the future.

I don't get this at all. The games and results in the East are random. Islanders playing like kings one night and getting smoked 7-0 another. Ottawa going on a winning streak sandwiched by two losses before and after to the Winnipeg Jets.

When I see high scoring one sided games I'm thinking one or the other or both teams didn't even bother to show up.

The Pens/Flyers game is rare and has more to do with those teams having a festering dislike for one another. The level of compete in the East is abysmal. Its like watching a lesser rung of hockey.

What a chump, wtf is Hansen complaining about? Since when has a forearm shiver to the back of the head been a hockey play?

Yeah the run and gun hockey is only fun when the two teams participating in it absolutely hate each other and there's that physical element added to the game.

I agree with Nielson's tweet last night and as much as I hate the Canucks but a Hawks/Canucks west final and a Pens/Flyers east final would be the best two weeks of hockey in quite some time.

I don't think the Canucks matchup right now. Not sure the Hawks will be on fire when it counts either. They gotta be the favorites at this point but a lot can happen between then and now. Theres several good clubs in the West.

I can't think of more than a few in the east then a bunch of pretenders.

Awards really mean little these days. The only one in my mind that matters is the Stanley Cup.

Cheechoo was a former Rocket Richard Trophy winner and now he's playing with our AHL team.

Myers and Mason were Calder Trophy winners and now both are a disaster according to other fans.

Man, it's not like I need yet another reason to dislike the Canucks, but I guess they just can't help themselves.

Jets defenceman Zach Redmond underwent surgery for three hours today to repair a laceration to his femoral artery and vein. Horrific injury.

Yikes. He's probably lucky to be alive right now.

Considering how bad he looked at the World Juniors I'm surprised that Jonathan Huberdeau is enjoying early success in the NHL. He just scored a beauty penalty shot goal for his 7th of the season. 10 points so far.

I think the World Juniors might actually have more defense than the eastern conference.

I think it's safe to say we're not winning the Calder Trophy this year.

The East is just so bad defensively.

Ottawa is winning sans Spezza and Karlsson again. If they win tonight they'll stretch their record to 3-1 without them.

Scary incident in the Jackets/Wings game. I hope that Anisimov is okay.

Haha, Jim Matheson is having a meltdown on Twitter tonight following his earlier "The Oilers acquired Nick Schultz to help Justin Schultz" comment.

Josh Green's response is gold.

I legitimately feel for the Sens right now. It's one thing to lose one or two key players, but to lose your #1 Center, Defenseman and Goaltender. If the Sens do anything but finish last that would be amazing.

So... if you wear a Senators jersey, your chances of getting injured rocket up... 200%? 300%?
