Only if they play the Dallas Stars a bunch of times.

Top 30 scorers in the league are 2:1 for the eastern conference now. Some weird names up there, too.

Josh Green's response is gold.

Good job Green.

My god what a day/night for horrific injuries.

One guy lucky to be alive after a nasty cut.

Ansiminov take out on a stretcher.

Clutterbuck taken away on a stretched eventually

And Ottawa, you might as well just call it a year before anyone else goes down.

what a job Paul Maclean is doing...no Spezza or Karlsson and they keep grinding it out

if they make the playoffs, he should win the Jack Adams

And as I said in another thread this is why some oiler fans are fed up with being fed the 'rebuild/youth' excuses for being terrible year after year. Each year there are a half dozen teams that are young, or injured or simply do not have a ton of talent and yet they still produce decent if not excellent results. The Oilers just flounder.

They also don't have Craig Anderson bailing them out at every opportunity. Nor do they play in a very weak Eastern Conference

Yeah, the oilers have had terrible tending this year that has not bailed them out at all.....and are still pure awful.....oh and they have also lost the reigning norris trophy winner and their best forward for most of the year.

DiPietro on waivers.. he'll probably get hurt at home so they can't buy him out.

Agreed. I actually looked at their roster, holy smokes it's filled with a ton of guys drafted and developed by them.

Silfverberg(sp?), Zibanejad, Greening, Smith, Condra, Weircioch(sp?), Jim O'Brien.

Pretty impressive that they can lose Karlsson, Spezza and now Anderson and chug along.

Definite props Maclean.

EDIT TO ADD: Trotz should once again be considered too. Currently sitting 4th in the conference after losing Suter. Looks like Colin Wilson is breaking out to become the forward they wanted him to be. Top-5 coach.

Trotz is the best coach in hockey and it's not even really close.

I have not posted anything oilers related since we lost yesterday I just need a break from the oilers

So for a change of pace I'm watching Chicago they just scored short handed to take a 2-1 lead with 15ish minutes to go they are poised to make history if they win tonight.

Chicago looking very deep, very controlled. So much poise. So unlike Edmonton

Can't help but think the games are getting uglier by the week, I don't know if its rose-coloured glasses but the overall hockey in 2013 just isn't that appealing to me.

What a treat. 06-07 Ducks and the 12-13 Hawks. Would be criminal if the Hawks didn't finish it off with a cup like the Ducks did. What have the Oilers done lately.......

Anybody see the thread on the main board about Calgary's new number one centre?

In case you haven't and you are wondering...it's Matt Stajan.

:-)

It only makes sense. Leafs of the west. Red instead of blue. Iggy instead of sundin.

I wonder what they'll give clowe for coming off the bench
They make a big deal about that don't they?
He is suspended pending a hearing so he not playong tonight.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: One option is auto 10-game suspension but that carries with it one-game suspension for head coach. McClellan coaching is coaching tonight.

Wow 10 games seems like alot

Why does the coach get a suspension? haha

Was McClellan supposed to use his jungle cat-like reflexes to notice Clowe stand up and then dive on him?

Why can't we be Ottawa

Tom Gilbert getting ripped on HNIC for brutal defensive lapses.

Kudos to Tambo for turning him into a useful player in Nick Schultz.
