Max Pac has turned into a monster for that team.

They've also become one of the better drafting teams in the NHL.

Yup. Their season is making me insanely jealous ala the Senators' resurgence last year.

5-4 Habs now.

As well as Gagner is doing this season, imagine coming out of the 2007 draft with Voracek, Shattenkirk, and Pacioretty. All players picked within one position of Gagner, Plante, and Nash, respectively.

I'm fine with Gagner but nobody can dispute that the Oilers ****ed up with Plante and Nash. Stu MacGregor = Overrated by Oil fans.

That was the draft before MacGregor was made head scout.

Well the funny thing is, they've surrounded their young guys wiht quality vets. Even if it means having a few bad contracts. Like the Sens did. Crazy concept.

Ugh. Pacioretty would be the most ideal player. He's developed into quite a powerfoward.

Gagner is fine, but man Plante and Nash ended up as huge busts. Terrible too because 3 1st round picks should've meant a better haul.

You're right. He was made head scout in 2007 but I couldn't remember if it was before or after this draft.

Still, I'll stick by my point. A fool could make the selections he's had the fortune of making.

6-6 game in Montreal. I wish realignment would move the Oilers to the East.

Meh. I'm not going to get all upset about us playing in the West. I blame the GM for not assembling an adequate squad to compete in this conference.

Hat-trick for Cogliano against the Coyotes. The Ducks are playing him on the wing instead of centre. What a concept.

I like Cogs but he's not exactly what the Oilers are missing. We have a better Cogliano ... his name is Sam Gagner and many Oiler fans want him gone too.

Cogliano's back to getting weak goals on a 28% shooting percentage.

Bodes well for Eberle, at least.

I thought the reason the Oilers didn't play Cogliano on the wing was because Cogliano complained he didn't like it.

Regardless, I think he is too one-dimensional to help the Oilers much right now.

The guy is still only 25, has never missed a game, is one of the best skaters in the league, very durable and tough and has played on the wing his year because the team actually told him that is where he is going to play.

We complain on here that our bottom 6 either can't skate (smyth) and can't add any offense at all. What's done is done obviously but the oilers have a habit of letting useful bottom 6 guys go.

Onward an upward though.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were to have trouble scoring against Eastern teams as well. They miss the net. A LOT.

Is anyone shocked that the Flames get yet another team on the second half of back to backs tomorrow?
