The Canes Know How to Entertain Their Fans

Watching their broadcast, they've got the cheerleaders in the stands, the blow horn going off to start the chants, and the cute sideline reporter for the fans at home. I think more teams should follow suit and use this formula, it makes for a great atmosphere.

Cheerleaders don't belong in hockey. They never have belonged and likely never will. There's plenty of attractive females around the arena, I'm sure. If you want cheerleaders, go watch football.

They're especially lucky that the Leafs are gracing them with their presence tonight.

Should try entertaining hockey, that might work.

However, I'm not against teams being like the Brooklyn Nets and having a cute girl like Alyonka Larionov work for the team in terms of fan experience or something like that.

They probably could if they didn't have some of the worst ice in the entire league.

Their goal horn/sound fx are... Entertaining.

Used to think so. Now not so sure after being in NJ for their last home meeting against the Rangers.

For the most part of that game, the cheerleaders and the fanbases razzing each other were more entertaining that the game itself. It's as if the players didn't give a damn at all, while the cheerleaders and fans were putting in a trenendous effort.

By the mid-third the game picked up a bit, but before then, in between shouts of 'sit daan, retaad' and 'you suck bwodooa', i was very much welcoming the performances by the devil girls.

Anyway, i've watched better games. Glad i didn't have to pay.

I think their Stanley Cup banner dampens the sound of your criticism.

Please dont bring the damn blow horn to any other stadiums! The places that already use it are annoying enough.

More like southerners not having a clue about what a traditional hockey game is like and adding a bunch of "marshmallow fluff" to the game experience.

For the record, I'm against cheerleaders in any sport. The only focus should be the game at hand.

No one cares what a "traditional hockey game" is like. Every arena uses a sound system that plays pop music instead of an organ, uses various light shows and other effects instead of using only the actual lights, has a video board instead of a rotary clock with a scoreboard, and uses various types of between-periods entertainment instead of a crew of ice cleaners.

Speak for yourself. People saying "no one cares" just because they personally don't care really are irritating.

Cheerleaders are nothing more than an objectification of women. Despicable.

They're not "cheerleaders." But, they are the one major thing I do not like about the game experience here. I refer to them as the Ice *****. As a female, it is extremely irritating when I see people dressing so immodestly. I like to carry myself with dignity and modesty.

In Chicago, we have a full-time organist (Frank Pellico). He doesn't get as much "air time" as in the past. But, it's still soothing to hear him play when he does.
