Whining is whining, everyone does it, but Melnyk sounds like a comedian.
Thing is, who cares? He can spew whatever he wants, as long as he keeps the team in Ottawa and puts money into the team when it's required, I don't care. Yeah he sounds kind of wacky, but it's not like he's spouting hate speech.
^ The in-thread video isn't working. But the link is good.. 22 minutes of Karlsson getting sliced and talking heads brushing it off.
I just watched it again like 20 times in slow-mo. I don't care what everyone else says, that was a kick downward with obvious accelerating force. So brutal. I'ma drive myself crazy with this.
I love Melnyk. I think he is ridiculous sometimes, but he is hilarious and it's great how much of a fan he is. Love it.
I don't think I could bear to watch 20 minutes of it. It was bad enough at the time of the accident when the picture of him screaming in pain was plastered everywhere. Watching it over and over again is just brutal.
Anyone who thinks it is an accident.... I just don't know how you can see that. Not in my world.
Go Eugene! lolz
Agree 100%. Watching the replay,...to me, it's so obvious he tried to step down onto the back of his leg(no protection there). That fact that's it's the dirtiest cheap shot artist in NHL history,..makes it a slam dunk to me. How everyone says this was an accident is laughable to me.
Bringing in the investigators is probably the greatest thing Melnyk has ever done for a member of his team. It is well known that Erik thought it was intentional, and there is a wealth of reasons to believe it was. He deserved a hell of a lot more support than the idiots in the NHL media gave him.
The only way to know with any degree is to recreate the physics that went into that disgusting "hockey play". It does matter, as if it comes out that it was probably intentional the league will have to adopt less brain dead standards for investigating cheap shots. This will be hard to do, but with the amount of money he has it is entirely achievable.
The Senatroll mindset is prevalent throughout the Senators organization, from the on ice antics of K-Daug to our ragtag bunch that just keeps on winning. From Eugene Melnyk's CSI-Ottawa gag to Bryan Murray's curious troll-face (interview edition).
Trolling requires the full commitment of the entire organization in order for it to be successful.
