Still a ways away.
Well it was said it could take about a year AFTER recovering to feel 100% again.

Awesome to hear he's ready to play already. That's a good sign for longer-term recovery to 100%, I think.

Karlsson won't feel 100% for a while. That's pretty well known. However, the only way he can feel 100% is if he gets in a lot of games on his repaired achilles. I'm guessing mid next season Karlsson will start returning to the form he was at this season.

This is also exactly the kind of thing where a lot of players take their foot off the gas and stand around and watch Karlsson.

Crosby comes back from an injury on NHL.com = BREAKING NEWS!!!!! - fills up all five slots of the news feed.

Karlsson comes back from an injury on NHL.com = Report: - second to Brassard doing well for the Rangers.

Good times.

Man, temper your expectations a little.

They couldn't even tell which was the bad ankle. And that's not because they both looked bad.

I'd rather not. I think I'd stop watching hockey if that happened.

If you had a choice would you rather Spezza or Karlsson returning?

I think we need Spezza more than Karlsson right now, but obviously over the moon about him coming back. Just watching last night and seeing all the chances and no finish worries me going forward.

If Karlsson comes back for the Pittsburgh game (I know unlikely), imagine if he purposely aimed his shots at matt cooke. Hit in the the face with a slap shot.

In the post game interview he says "Im sorry, it was an accident"

That would make my season, it would be the ultimate pay back

It's more about his timing and conditioning.

Cowen seemed up for it, but not sure how much of that was the adrenaline of the first game.

Still, it's Erik Karlsson. If anyone can dominate from puck drop, it's him.

Think is Karlsson makes both our offense and defence better.
Spezza also makes both better, but his impact on defence is a little more limited, he's a good faceoff taker, which we desperately need.

I'm ecstatic and concerned all at the same time.. I'm worried that its too soon. But I trust the med staff here that he's good to go. Great couple of weeks for Sens fans. Let's hope spezza makes good progress now.

You think Spezza means more finish? Marginally.

I think we're better off making a measurable positive difference in time spent in the offensive zone and chances.

We got the better player back...and the one everyone's more jacked to see.

The real reason either guy would be a godsend is our putrid PP.

I think Spezza would have a bit more of an impact on that, but anything that gets Phillips off of the PP is equally valuable.

A possession team just got one of, if not the, best puck possession players in the game.

If we could only have one, we made out good.

Maybe they care about it in Ottawa, but NHL makes no big deal about it. Only team that ever existed for NHL website is Pittsburgh Penguins.

TSN of course, is a different story.
