Inverse of the Gambler's Fallacy. If a team goes on a hot streak and wins a lot of games, the human presumption is the hand of chance will have to intervene and even things out with a few losses.

Sometimes you can see where a streak is teetering on the edge of breaking. Like, a team is starting to play really badly, but is still running on the fumes of prior momentum. However, I think the Canucks overall game is trending in the right direction. Still not anywhere near where it needs to be if they want to contend for a Cup this year, 8-2-2 notwithstanding. I don't think I've seen them play three good periods in a row yet this season. But trending in the right direction.

I may be imagining that, though. We've had the luxury of beating on some woeful teams over the last few games.

Off a glorious feed from Kesler on the powerplay. And all is well in the world.

3 to 2 ot shootout win is my prediction. Dallas plays tight def, so I don't expect a high scoring affair.

I think we win the intangibles battle.

When your turning 62 it's not really a day that pumps you up.

Canucks win; Jagr poops his pants.

There are so many things wrong with those two posts.

1. Henrik will never shoot the puck. He'll only score again if his pass deflects off a defender and into the net.

2. Kesler will never pass the puck. He'll only get an assist if his shot deflects off a defender/goalie and onto a teammate's stick.

3. We'll never score a goal on the powerplay.

Lehtonen and Schneider put on a clinic tonight. We go to a shootout. Just a gut feeling, but we lose 2-1.

Wow Rome as a consistent Top 4 guy? Is AV Dallas' new coach?

Would explain why our lines make sense.

Rome got too much hate around here. He's a (very) poor man's top 4 defender, but he plays a pretty clean and tidy game for a guy who makes a fairly minimal salary for the position. He was playing big minutes for us during the cup run, and playing them well. It was no coincidence that his suspension was sort of the final straw when it came to our defense. It was already a patchwork quilt of broken bodies back there, and he was putting in a yeoman effort picking up some of the slack.

I don't understand the big deal about the return of Kessel. I mean, sure he finally got a goal for Toronto so he's "back", but it's not like he even plays for us.

I actually don't mind Rome.

But I don't like him in a Top 4 role consistently.

Dallas' defense is pretty bad. I'm not surprised Rome could find his way on to their top-4.

Are you not looking forward to seeing him line up with the Sundin twins on the powerplay tipping in point shots from Bieska?

3-2 Canucks

I don't want to jinx it, but hopefully that guy can reach that milestone tonight.

Good teams don't believe in jinxes. Henrik will reach Naslund's record tonight.

Even though he's going to be rusty it will be great to see Kelser back in the lineup. He does everything for this team but I think his presence will be felt the most on our struggling PP. He's such a great utility player for the powerplay unit as he can carry the puck, he can set up in front of the net, or he can rip shots from the top of the circles.
