He is 21-22, 5 years bring him to 27. I believe that would bring him up to his final year of RFA status. RB?

It's either 27 or 7 years of play. So wouldn't he be a UFA by 25? 18+7? RB would help here.

It's 27 or 7 years of play, yeah. Since ROR started when he was 18, I'm pretty sure his UFA year is 25. (granted he plays through every season up until then)

Yes, O'Reilly accrued years of NHL service as an 18 year old and a 19 year old, so he would be eligible for UFA at 25. However, if he misses this entire season, he would not accrue a year of service for this season, and his UFA age would be pushed back to 26.

How many games do you have to play this year for it to count as a full year of service?

Pretty sure it's 40 for a normal season, not sure what it's been abbreviated to this season.

So it's probably round the 20 mark. That's if this league could do anything logically.

He is seeking at least $4 million per year, but that number rises to $5 million in the event of a long-term deal. With no progress made, suitors have lined up in recent days. According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Sherman is seeking both a roster player and a top prospect in any potential deal.

5 million?

Who does he think he is?

People think Sather would pay him more than the captain? No way he comes here.

So the Rangers have been asking about ROR and the Avs' are asking for MDZ in return? Were there any other parts mentioned?

Rangers wanted a defenseman, but Colorado's counter demands were too high for Sather's liking.

Colorado has a lot of chutzpah asking for Kreider and Miller for a guy they can't even sign. They can go **** themselves.

An egotistical jerk off? I wouldn't even give him $4 million for one good season.

whereby the Avs asked for defenseman Michael Del Zotto and another prospect. That prospect might have been Chris Kreider or J.T. Miller.

He probably turned down the 5 years @ 3.4 due to the low cap hit.

For a center who has scored 39 goals in 3 full seasons? Is O'Reilly really supposed to become a great player?

From the Avs point of view...

If the Rangers are willing to give up Del Zotto and Miller or Kreider, Colorado general manager Greg Sherman needs to pull the trigger immediately.

If we trade Marc Staal to Carolina, I want Jeff Skinner back. Anything less than that is a no deal

If the NYR brass are putting DZ on a plate they either know something we do not about MDZ, players in Hartford, and/or RoR, possibly all three.

They clearly think MDZ is expendable and RoR is the real deal. They weren't willing to move him for Nash, but suddenly he is on the table for RoR? That says a lot to me about either how highly people in the organization think of RoR, or what has changed about potential replacements for MDZ in Hartford.

I would do this deal, if Sather can "Sather" it for lack of a better term. I am becoming much more trustworthy of this organizations decisions on trades after a lot of the recent moves that have made this team a lot better. They know what they have in Hartford, and they know who will be missed, or isn't worth giving up.

Dater is a legitimate source, he is THE avs beat reporter.
Who do you think is closer to the truth, him or this board?

Of course. If the Rangers traded MDZ + Miller/Kreider I would be PISSED.

No way do I touch that deal.

I have said a few times, something like:

MDZ + Boyle + low prospect for ROR + Elliot + O'Brien
