That's honestly one of the best saves I've ever seen. Sublime!

Sorry but I don't see anything that could compete with that. A wide open 4'x6' and the dude picks the puck out of the air with his paddle and then tops it off by just catching it and skating away.

I half expected somebody to lower some sunglasses onto his face from the rafters and then the words DEAL WITH IT flashing across the screen.

I froze after, could not believe he made that save and looked so casual when he caught it with the glove. Watched the replay about ten times just shaking my head. Brodie was doing the same 5 minutes later.

Great save.

Love the quick grab of the puck after the save. "Meh, no big deal. Just the save of the year."

Anyone else find it funny how a potential SOTY gets a small "great save by allen" but all the typical "good" saves get "ZOMG SAVE OF THE YEAR!!!!" Thread titles?

It would have been better if we stuck with the "Gallon ROBS TJ Brodie" title.

Phenomenal save.

As for some people wondering what save is better?

Well, in my opinion this is one of the most disgusting saves, ever (and I hate Pitt).

Maybe I am blind, but what was great about the save? It was pretty cool but didn't seem crazy good like everyone is mentioning

If you don't see how amazing that was I really don't know how we could explain it to you.

Allen was playing the puck he was cutting down the angle on the left side of the net of the potential shooter. Due to good passing Brodie had a wide open net to shoot at the whole net was open because of good passing by the Flames. Not really any fault of Allen. But Allen managed to have the reflexes/speed to get his stick back there to make the save. 99.9% of the time that would have been a goal.

Off-the-ice, desperation stick saves are basically the most unlikely in the game. Some people are more impressed by saves in which the goalie looks like a gymnast, but that doesn't make them any harder to pull off.

It's not the first such save I've seen this year. I remember one similar pulled against the Habs by.. I believe it was Anderson, maybe..?

However, THIS save is so much more visually impressive. You clearly see the puck bounce up, and Allen just catch it like a boss. 100% swag bro

You know it's an amazing save when it takes until page 4 for the Debbie Downer post.
