Living in Europe, I've only seen 4 games this year and they've played like s**t in all of them. Yet, somehow they've won 2 of the 4 games I've seen and that's what good teams do. Win, despite playing "poorly".

And I agree with the most that it's time to end the Chris Bourque Experiment. Find someone big and physical to play with Kelly and Pevs.

I think people must have unrealistic expectations for Seguin this year. Aside from the first two games, he's been winning his share of 1 on 1 battles, getting chances, and setting up his linemates (something he hasn't been rewarded for thanks to Bergeron struggling in the goal scoring department as well).

Those suggesting he's not trying or has somehow checked out make wonder if they're confusing #18 with #19 on their television sets. I know Seguin doesn't go into he corners hard, but he always skates hard and try's to fight for pucks.

Getting chances won't cut it.
He needs to score.
Yea, I always read he's snakebiten and stuff ... he needs to improve his precision. "Robbed by Miller" - he has to score than damn goal there.

Is Bergeron still fighting the injury he acquired in the playoffs last year? He just has not looked right. Still nobody talking about the face offs Marchand took in the 3rd period?

Seguin is FINE. Created alot of chances tonight. We all know he can score. Not too sad that he might be a good set-up man...

Best 10 game start in franchise history, but let's go get a goon.

Bergeron went 15-5 at the dot and had a team high of 5 shots and one post. That line had the Sabres running around in their own end and was setting the tempo.

The logs don't show BM taking face offs at the end.PB did against Hodgson

He initially lined up to take at least one defensive zone draw. He immediately got kicked out, Bergy ended up taking it.

They've done that the whole year with all the lines as a stall tactic. They seem to be tossing guys at the dot left and right so they send in a winger they get tossed and in comes the center. MTL did it to the B's a few years ago in the playoffs as a way of getting PB tossed and getting an easier match up.

so I had DVR'd this and planned to watch tonight, but accidentally caught the score. I generally skip watching games on a delay if i find out it was a loss (because why knowingly put myself through that?). Any reason to watch this one? Sounds like they shat the bed in the 3rd and that's the story of the game. Is Claude still insisting on keeping Seguin with Bergy/Marchand? Cause above all else that is the biggest head-scratcher for me this season.

Never noticed this before. Should be a great strategy now with all the linesmen turning puck hogs during the lockout.

Clode is keeping the band together. He said Horton and Seguin are interchangeable (sp please) but i agree with you. Seguin got a kick out of playing with Looch & Krejci. IMO Horton can play on any line with his maturity and solid 2-way game, he just can't seem to get a rep on his defensive effort.

Well, to be fair you can't critique the team when they're winning... that just results in"they're winning, what more do you want from them" followed by a host of smileys and acronyms that equate to laughing certain pieces of your anatomy off. The Thornton thread was a pretty good example of that earlier in the year.

I subscribe to the theory that there is always room for improvement, even if a team plays well over a 14 game sample size. Bruins looked fine last regular season... looks can apparently be deceiving.

That being said, I really do miss the team that could score at will through Jan, Feb last year! 3 more posts tonight, something has gotta give soon, this team is snakebit offensively lately.

What bother me the most is the fact once again we have cap space, it's pretty clear we need more offensive power from the third line and Chiarelli refuses to look outside the box. Obvious it's nice giving opportunities to the rookies, but no one is doing what Ryder did. I'm not his biggest fan, but he would be, by far, a better option than Bourque.

if you actually go back to the game, both times they were on icing calls. his job was to buy the guys some extra time. he meant to get waived out both times, and did.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ryder was absolutely invaluable to the team in the role that he was playing. Was he expensive? Yes. Was he worth it? Yes, because when push came to shove he was making crucial plays or at least posing a threat to the opponents. He was the perfect 3rd line scoring wingman that we are currently lacking. Regardless of the fact that we are 8-2-2 we could stand to improve some of our personnel, Bourque is not the answer. He's not necessarily playing poorly, however he's not making a great case to be in that spot night in and night out. We need to add someone who will give that third line another legitimate scoring threat besides Peverley, who by himself is not all that dangerous. Add another decent scorer and you make Peverley much more dimentional and effective.

Strictly speaking as a Sabres fan, we seem to get up for these games more than the Bruin's do. I would gander you guy's don't see this as much of a rivalry as we do so our guys put it all out there when they play Boston and then play like crap against every other team. Boston is our biggest rival currently, I don't think you guys hate us nearly as much...but who knows...you guys dominated the majority of that game. If we didn't have Miller I don't know what our record would be but I imagine it would be under 4 wins.

And just to add to that, I'm surprised by people calling out Seguin. That kid is dangerous and with a player of his pedigree it's only a matter of time until he breaks out again. He scares the **** out of me.
