I know what you said. I have no issue with those statements. Again, I took issue with your first statement, which is why I posted in disagreement of that statement.
To that point, I have clarified a few posts up. There is no contradiction. Vanek's play has lagged but is still generating opportunities.
to me, tonight really reinforced Hodgson's game. Can't wait to see what he's like next year and the year after. Hard to believe it's only his second year and the strides (no pun intended) he's made in his game

The one thing that CoHo has surprised me with so far this year is his SUPER quick release. All he needs is a small window and he can snap that thing on net (or near the net...point is, not deflected)
'Hoff is seriously playing at a Norris level. He's just plays perfect defense every night, he's like Lidstrom-lite.
I wouldn't go that far...it only looks like that because the rest of the D has been playing so bad. Hoff has made his share of gaffes, it's just that the other guys on the blue line have made more gaffes and worse ones too.

I really wish we could find a better partner for him. I'm not a huge fan of Sulzer generally and certainly don't want him playing anything more than 3rd pairing minutes.

Sekera-Ehrhoff might actually be a very good pairing. Of course, this requires a healthy Sekera and for the other pairings not to be ****.
Sulzer led the team with 3 turnovers tonight and I though he was meh overall. We can't have him playing those kind of minutes. He isn't good enough. Unfortunately neither is anyone else right now.
Even if Myers gets his game back on track we still need another top 4 dman to go with Sekera, Ehrhoff and Myers. None of the others really belong in the top 4.

Be interesting to see third period ice times. Sure seemed like hoff and Myers were out there a lot.....
BTW...was at game, if you start screaming let's go sabres, people act like you're mentally ill. Buffalo is like Toronto, dull fans. when did that happen? Nothing like Bills games.

They should. Everyone knows its lets go Buffalo not lets go Sabres.

Agreed, you will seriously get dirty looks. The only time the clowns in the 100s show any emotion is if you dare to stand up and try to cheer on the team.
Regehr has been a big disappointment to me, he was a guy logging 21-22 minutes in Calgary and always looked solid to me. Comes to Buffalo and is playing 17-18 minutes and looks like an old man. We are just full of average defensemen right now that can't or shouldn't be logging over 20 minutes.
One thing with Regehr - I think he is better suited for the more defensive orientated and physical Western Conference. Could be an explanation.
