Both. If this is what we can expect from the Sharks this season, I would like to see what the future looks like. We don't need slow guys like Clowe or Murrey, or guys who go on streaks (sometimes good but mostly bad) like Thornton and Marleau. I'd like to see what this team is like next season, or the season after that. Trade some of this dead weight, fire McLellan and replace him with Robinson for the rest of the year, and bring up some of the guys from the AHL and let them get experience.

It's not going to happen, of course, but it's better than what we're seeing now. What we're seeing now is boring.

TRADE THORTON FIRE TMAC TRADE MARLOW FIRE DW BURN DOWN THE TANK. But seriously, this team isn't THAT bad. Something does need to change, though. Not the lines.

TMAC has lost control of the ship...The entire bench should be sat down in front of a t.v. tomorrow and they should all be forced to watch Angels In The Outfield...

Four days off until the next game. Perfect time for a coaching change and/or trade.

I was one of the few that suggested they fire TM after the Columbus game and now after 2 more losses everyone's on board.

It all depends on the opinion of one person: Larry Robinson.

Nothing is going to happen.

Maybe a call up and that's it.

I've been wanting TM gone for the last TWO seasons. Yeah they got off to a hot start, but as we can see now that hot start was a fluke.

Fire McLellan and hire Marc Crawford.

Then hopefully Doug Wilson gets canned in the offseason.

Who is everyone?

Todd didn't play out there and just glide around the ice like a brain dead zombie.

The players are garbage and coaching didn't all of a sudden make them idiots.

It isn't so much that they are in a funk right now. It is just that stretches of play this poor make me think that the team isn't a realy Stanley Cup contender.

Moreover, while I know that the hockey analytic-lovers will take about regression to the mean, Corsi, etc....there are definitely games where teams out chance, but don't outscore the other team. With San Jose, despite the fact that corsi would point to them outchancing the other teams, I'm not seeing it...I am especially not seeing quality offensive production.

Everybody likes to say "trade everyone" sarcastically but it needs to happen sooner or later or they're gonna be in for a very painful rebuild.

Relocate the team to Hartford.

As easy as it would be to hit the panic/shake-up button, I wouldn't do it. Shaking it up only works if you have a clear vision in mind for what you want to accomplish with your trade or line shuffle. The problem is essentially the same as it has been throughout DW's tenure. No clear vision of what their depth lines are going to be. They got lucky a couple seasons when they went offensive with their 3rd line. Other years, it has been just throwing some parts together and hoping for the best. The fact that they had commented on the fact that T.J. Galiardi doesn't have a clear role on this team when they just traded for him speaks to that.

Since they don't have that clear vision, it's pointless to try to do something when you're just hoping something works. They won't dump players and sell off. They won't spread the offensive talent as much as they need to really fix the lines. They will continue to sputter until they get lucky and then it might turn around.

But seriously, they have to turn it around soon or something has to be done. They struggled last year and just squeaked into the playoffs. Got their ass kicked against the Blues and the core is still the same. You're not trading Thornton or Marleau but this mix is not working.

Coaching I feel is only part of the problem when you start the season red hot and just fall apart is more a player issue imo.

The schedule is pretty light up until the start of March, when it starts to get really compressed. If there was a time to make moves, it's not the deadline. It's right now.

And we're definitely in O**** territory now.

Theres no way in hell anyone here knows what the real problem is but something definitely needs to happen after this season, whether its firing TM or trading the core.

Well, the reality is that there is no one problem here. There is a multitude of problems contributing to this team's current slide. There are problems at the management position, the coaching positions, and the player positions.

The problem starts with Doug Wilson. He doesn't know what he wants out of his depth players. They pick up pieces and hope for the best. There doesn't seem to be a real plan of who they think an acquisition will play with and how they will help and what they want that line to do whether it's be offensive, shutdown, or energy/physical.

However, the pieces they have should yield better results than this at this point. Part of that is the coaching not knowing what to do with their players either from a depth perspective. McLellan has tried almost everything...almost. He can spread the offensive talent better or he can stick to a line combination and wait for it to gel. They aren't given time to gel at the lower levels and it's especially crucial for all those new players to get that time but they simply aren't getting it because they aren't yielding the results necessary for this season.
